(HOUSTON Texas) Following the horrific school shooting at Santa Fe High School today the Department of Education announced $1 million in federal funds for the Santa Fe Independent School District through a Project School Emergency Response to Violence (Project SERV) grant. Last week at a roundtable discussion on school safety with Texas leaders and victims of the school shooting U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) urged for federal funds to be dispersed in an expedited manner to assist in recovery for the Santa Fe educational community.
