Sen. Cruz Introduces Legislation to Remove Red Tape for Texas Ranchers

Bill would eliminate burdensome wildlife regulations and promote animal conservation Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. (HOUSTON Texas) - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced the Saving Americas Vulnerable and Endangered Species (SAVES) Act which would remove regulatory burdens for ranchers and conservators engaged in captive breeding of exotic wildlife while promoting animal conservation in the United States. Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) has introduced companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives H.R. 2603.

Non-native species and wildlife within Texas are an important economic driver of our states economy and enrich lands all across the Lone Star State" Sen. Cruz said. Texas wildlife owners and breeders are currently saddled by burdensome regulations that stifle their breeding programs and species conservation efforts. Thats why I am proud to introduce legislation to eliminate this red tape allowing ranchers and breeders to invest more of their hard-earned income back into their conservation and management efforts. This bill would support the recovery of wildlife populations decrease wildlife trafficking and maintain thriving populations to benefit Texas economy."
