Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – (HOUSTON, Texas) – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued the following statement after Fort Hood confirmed the identification of remains found near Little River Academy, Texas, as Spc. Vanessa Guillen, who had been missing since April:

Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX-25), a congressional representative of Fort Hood, today released the following statement after officials announced the search for PFC Vanessa Guillen had concluded with the positive identification of her remains:
“It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Private First Class Vanessa Guillen, a true American soldier who dedicated her life in service to our nation. My prayers are with her family and the Fort Hood community during this trying time. The search for answers into her tragic death must continue, and I call upon the Department of Defense and law enforcement to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation that leads to those responsible being fully brought to justice.”
