Saves School Districts Money on SB 10 Compliance
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Senator Adam Hinojosa announced today that his office has secured Ten Commandments posters for every public school classroom in Senate District 27 to support full compliance with Senate Bill 10, recently signed into law by Governor Abbott during the 89th Texas Legislature.
SB 10 requires public schools to display a framed or poster-sized copy of the Ten Commandments in each classroom. Senator Hinojosa, a joint-author of the measure, says the legislation helps reintroduce a sense of moral grounding and historical context into Texas classrooms.
“Our values matter. Senate Bill 10 is about reminding students of the moral foundations that have long guided our society,” said Hinojosa. “As a legislator, I also recognize the importance of helping schools implement new laws smoothly and responsibly.”
To ensure schools can meet this requirement without redirecting valuable campus resources, Senator Hinojosa has coordinated the printing and distribution of fully compliant posters at no cost to the districts. This effort was made possible through a generous private pledge by Andres Palma, President of MEG Engineers.
“As a husband and father, having our three young children attend local schools, it is something critical that has been missing for a long time in the school setting,” said Mr. Palma. “The decisive actions of our state legislature will bless Texans.”
“I am incredibly grateful to Mr. Palma for stepping forward and making this possible,” Hinojosa said. “His support is a testament to the strength of our communities and the willingness of private citizens to invest in the next generation.”
The posters meet all formatting specifications outlined in SB 10, and deliveries will begin ahead of the 2025–2026 school year. School leaders with questions or in need of additional copies may contact Senator Hinojosa’s office for assistance.
