Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Senator Dawn Buckingham released the following statement after this weekends tragic death of Department of Public Safety Senior Trooper Thomas Nipper.
As a conservative and longtime supporter of law enforcement I join the people of Bell County and the State of Texas in mourning the death of Trooper Thomas Nipper who was killed in the line of duty. Trooper Nipper was stationed in Temple where he served as a valued public servant to Senate District 24. Trooper Nippers death serves as a sober reminder of the danger our brave law enforcement officers face each day as they carry out their oath to serve and protect.
I am committed to doing what I can to protect those who protect us. Thats why I was proud to join the Texas Senate in unanimously passing five pro-law enforcement bills in the Texas Senate earlier this year to collectively send a unified strong message to the brave men and women who protect us: weve got your back and we do back the blue.
Please do your part by following the law to help keep these brave men and women safe:
slow down or move over for police fire EMS Texas Department of Transportation vehicles and tow trucks that are stopped on the side of the road with emergency lights activated its the law.
