Sens. Cruz Cornyn Praise Confirmation of General Murray to Head U.S. Army Futures Command in Austin

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) released the following statements in praise of the Senate confirmation of John Murray to be General in the U.S. Army:
Just as Austin is uniquely positioned to ensure the Army succeeds in this new mission General Murrays long career and dedicated service in uniform makes him the right leader for Army Futures Command Sen. Cruz said. I am confident that General Murray will succeed in his new role and I look forward to Texas and the United States benefiting from his leadership. I am eager to continue working with the Army to ensure they are modernized and ready to deter aggression promote peace and project American strength. General Murrays impressive leadership experience within many levels in the U.S. Army makes him an exceptional candidate to lead its new innovative command in Austin" said Sen. Cornyn. I look forward to welcoming Gen. Murray back to central Texas and following the success of the U.S. Army Futures Command under his direction."
General John Murray Commanding General U.S. Army Futures Command Lieutenant General Murray was commissioned as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army upon graduation from the Ohio State University in 1982. Throughout his career Lieutenant General Murray has served in leadership positions and commanded from Company through Division with various staff assignments at the highest levels of the Army. Lieutenant General Murray has held numerous command positions within the Army with several of his assignments taking him to Texas including: Commander 3rd Brigade 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood; Deputy Commanding General 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood; and Chief of Staff III Corps and Fort Hood. Lieutenant General Murray hails from Kenton Ohio. He and his wife Jane have three  daughters and seven grandchildren.
