Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON DC U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) Chairman of the House Rules Committee today issued the following statement in response to the Federal Bureau of Investigations announcement that they will be reopening their investigation into Hillary Clinton:
In July when Director Comey announced that the FBI would not bring charges against Mrs. Clinton he said I think she was extremely careless. I think she was negligent. That I could establish. What we cant establish is that she acted with the necessary criminal intent. I firmly believe that this was a misapplication of the law. There is no excuse for a senior government official like Hillary Clinton to play fast and loose with our nations safety and security and expect to claim ignorance when blatantly violating our nations laws. It was deeply disturbing that they did not bring charges against her because there was no precedent for this kind of irresponsible behavior. However the decision to reopen this investigation makes it clear that there is more to the case.
The FBIs decision reaffirms what we have known all along - Hillary Clinton deceived the American people jeopardized their safety and security and broke the law in the process. In addition to this recent development and the immunity deals brokered for her closest aides there is no doubt in my mind that she cannot be trusted with our nations most important secrets. I call for the immediate suspension of her security briefings since she has proven she cannot be trusted. I hope this time the FBI finally conducts the thorough and objective investigation the American people deserve. No one is above the law and Mrs. Clinton must be held accountable for her irresponsible and unlawful actions. The American people deserve to know all the facts leading to the FBIs decision to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton."
