Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas -- Following last Tuesday's swearing-in ceremonies, Texas Speaker of the House Dennis Bonnen today issued committee assignments for newly-elected State Representatives Gary Gates (R-Richmond), Lorraine Birabil (D-Dallas), and Anna Eastman (D-Houston).
“Pursuant to House Rule 4, Section 5, I am pleased to appoint Rep. Gates, Rep. Birabil, and Rep. Eastman to fill the committee positions left vacant by their predecessors,” said Speaker Bonnen. “As newly-elected members of the House, I know they will bring an important perspective to the interim work of their respective committees, and it is my honor to welcome them to the Texas House.”
Speaker Bonnen's committee assignments are as follows:
- Rep. Gates - Appropriations Committee; Pensions, Investments, & Financial Services Committee
- Rep. Birabil - Higher Education Committee; Urban Affairs Committee
- Rep. Eastman - Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee; Natural Resources Committee
