Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas State Representative Tony Dale (R-Cedar Park) was appointed by House Speaker Joe Straus to serve on the House Select Committee for Cybersecurity. This Select Committee was created as a result of HB 8 from the 85th session. HB 8 tasks the committee with studying cybersecurity in Texas as well as information security plans for state agencies and assessing the risks and vulnerabilities of state agency cybersecurity.
Rep. Dale stated on his appointment I thank Speaker Straus for appointing me to this committee. I look forward to working with Chairman Capriglione and the other members of to further the legislatures efforts to help keep Texans and their personal information secure in cyberspace.
Representative Dale is a husband father U.S. Army veteran and small business owner. He and his wife Mary owner of The Mary Dale Law Firm live in Cedar Park where they raise their two daughters. He is Vice Chairman of the Juvenile Justice & Family Issues Committee and is a member of the Environmental Regulation Committee. He is Chairman of the Texas House Energy Caucus. He is a member of the Cedar Park and Leander Chambers of Commerce. He represents southwestern Williamson County Cedar Park Leander Brushy Creek and parts of Austin and Round Rock.
