Stopping Ransom Payments to Iran

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 5931 the Prohibiting Future Ransom Payments to Iran Act. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill: The House has voted to prohibit cash payments to Iran. The United States should never send untraceable cash payments to anyone especially Iran the worlds leading state sponsor of terrorism. The president and his administration still have a lot of questions to answer for their dangerous precedent of paying a ransom to Iran. While they continue to spin the secretive cash payment as coincidental and as leverage for the release of hostages more Americans have been imprisoned by Iran. House Republicans will continue to hold this administration accountable for its failed and misguided foreign policies. With the passage of the Prohibiting Future Ransom Payments to Iran Act we protect the lives of hardworking American families and prevent the further funding of terrorism. Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur former energy executive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC)  and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
