CONG. FALLON: Task Force on Trump Assassination Investigative Update

ALSO: The Debacle in Afghanistan 3 Years Later

By Cong. Pat Fallon

Texas Insider Report: (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – From record high inflation and the worst border crisis in history, to a sitting president being unfit to run for reelection (but who is somehow still fit to “run the country"), we are truly living through unprecedented times.

Just last month, we witnessed the assassination attempt on President Trump, which was a monumental failure by the U.S. Secret Service. I believe it is a miracle that President Trump survived the attempt on his life. My thoughts and prayers are also with the family of Corey Comperatore, the volunteer firefighter and innocent bystander who lost his life that fateful day, July 13.

Still, I find it disturbing that the Secret Service refuses to cooperate with lawmakers who are working to get to the bottom of how a 20 year old loner was able to outsmart the entire Secret Service and get to a position with a clear shot at President Trump.

As one of seven House Republicans on the Congressional Task Force that is conducting an independent investigation in the Secret Service's security failure, I can assure you we WILL demand the answers that Americans deserve.

On a separate note, its become apparent that Democrats and left-wing media are trying to hide VP Kamala Harris' record to make her liberal record appear more moderate candidate. Can you believe that?

Under Border Czar Kamala Harris, we’ve seen 11 million illegal encounters, more than five times as many as under President Trump. For over three years, she lied about the border, saying it was secure and refused to call it what it is, a crisis. Only now is she pivoting and acting as if she will be tough on the border. Does she know she has the ability to do so as the sitting Vice-President?

We are much smarter than she thinks we are. We can see through the deception and the lies.

The border crisis will only be fixed when President Trump’s border policies, like Remain in Mexico, are reinstated.

Afghanistan, three years later

This week marks the third anniversary of the fall of Kabul and the botched 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Biden-Harris administration ignored the advice and warnings from commanders on the ground and accelerated the time line for withdrawal in order to score a political "victory" by leaving the country in time for the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Tragically, we lost 13 United States servicemembers in the Abbey Gate suicide bombing on August 26, 2021.

We must never forget their names.
  • USMC Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza, 20, of Rio Bravo, Texas.
  • USMC Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California.
  • USMC Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, 20, of Norco, California.
  • USA Staff Sgt. Ryan C. Knauss, 23, of Corryton, Tennessee.
  • USMC Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez, 22, of Logansport, Indiana.
  • USMC Cpl. Hunter Lopez, 22, of Indio, California.
  • USN Hospitalman Maxton W. Soviak, 22, of Berlin Heights, Ohio.
  • USMC Lance Cpl. Dylan R. Merola, 20, of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
  • USMC Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts.
  • USMC Cpl. Daegan W. Page, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska.
  • USMC Staff Sgt. Darin T. Hoover, 31, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • USMC Lance Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum, 20, of Jackson, Wyoming.
  • USMC Lance Cpl. Jared M. Schmitz, 20, of St. Charles, Missouri.

Capitol Hill Update

Congress returns from the August district work period on September 9th. This past July saw a flurry of activity. Former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was brought to testify before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee regarding the agency’s security failures that enabled the assassination attempt on President Trump. Cheatle was questioned heavily by members on both sides of the isle and neglected to give much insight into how such a massive lapse in security was allowed to happen.

In the days following the hearing, Cheatle resigned from her position.

I think she should have been fired.
Task Force to Investigate Trump Shooting: The Bipartisan Task Force chosen to further investigate the incident was approved unanimously following the Cheatle hearing.

I am honored to have been selected by Speaker Mike Johnson to be a member of this task force, and vow to leave no stone unturned so that we can ensure the safety of our political leaders as well as individuals in attendance. The Task Force will produce a final report in the coming months.

The other 12 members on the task force include:

  • Republican Reps. Mark Green (TN-07)
    • Clay Higgins (LA-03)
    • Dave Joyce (OH-14)
    • Laurel Lee (FL-15)
    • Michael Waltz (FL-06), and
  • Democratic Reps. Jason Crow (CO-06)
    • Lou Correa (CA-46)
    • Madeleine Dean (PA-04)
    • Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06)
    • Glenn Ivey (MD-04), and
    • Jared Moskowitz (FL-23)

Congressman Pat Fallon has previously represented North Texans in the Texas Legislature, and now proudly serves as the Congressman for Texas’ 4th Congressional District, where he serves over 700,000 great American “bosses”.
