Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas The Comptrollers Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program will provide an opportunity for business owners to connect with state agencies and institutions of higher education at the Procurement Connection Seminar and EXPO.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is the keynote speaker of the event which will take place Wednesday Aug. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center 900 Barton Springs Road in Austin.
Texas HUB program helps educate qualifying businesses about state procurement. A HUB is a Texas-based small business that is at least 51 percent owned by an Asian Pacific American Black American Hispanic American Native American American woman and/or service-disabled veteran who resides in Texas and actively participates in the control operations and management of the entitys affairs.
This event is open to HUB-certified businesses and vendors interested in becoming HUB certified.
Scheduled workshops include Writing a Winning Proposal and Statewide Contracts. In addition representatives from the Comptrollers office and Lamar University will host a group discussion live and on Twitter.
