Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Governor Greg Abbott today celebrated the strength and resilience of the Texas economy as the state gained 40,100 nonfarm jobs over the month of January and hit a new historic high of 14,379,500 total jobs.

January labor market data from the Texas Workforce Commission shows:
- Texas added 40,100 nonfarm jobs over the month of January, reaching a new high of 14,379,500 total jobs.
- The Texas labor force totaled 15,955,200.
- Texans working, including self-employed, totaled 15,267,100.
- Texas gained 112,200 jobs from January 2025 to January 2026, outpacing the national annual job growth rate.
