Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Land Commissioner, and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham announced the grand opening ceremony of the Tuskegee Airmen Texas State Veterans Home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas. Commissioner Buckingham will give remarks at the event.

The home is named after the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all-African American flying group in the United States Armed Forces.
These pilots served during World War II and completed over 15,000 missions across North Africa and Europe. These brave men also received over 150 Distinguished Flying Cross awards, 60 Purple Hearts, and the Congressional Gold Medal.
