Texas taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize abortion providers. I’m confident you agree and am grateful for your consideration.
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – After learning that the Texas Medical Board has a Planned Parenthood employee as it’s Medical Director, today Rep. Brian Harrison sent the attached letter to Governor Abbott asking that the employee be removed and that all state agencies are directed to ensure there are no other Planned Parenthood officials employed by any state agency, including in advisory roles.

Rep. Brian Harrison letter Below:
Dear Governor Abbott:
Texas has long been a pro-life state, and I am grateful for your leadership on this issue, including signing the Heartbeat Bill and other laws which protect the sanctify of life.
Prior to getting elected to the Texas Legislature, I served as President Trump’s Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) during his first administration. I was proud to have led the rollout of HHS’s successful effort to defund Planned Parenthood at the federal level, and I know Texas voters overwhelmingly supported these efforts and oppose the taxpayer funding of abortion.
I was shocked to read in a court document filed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) that it appears TMB has a Planned Parenthood official in the powerful position of Medical Director.
It is indefensible a pro-life state like Texas has an abortionist regulating the practice of medicine.
Thanks to the laws the legislature has passed and that you have signed, abortion is illegal in this state, is not considered medical care, and, in fact, abortion providers can face criminal liability.
This fox must be removed from guardianship of the henhouse.
Due to the severe and inherent conflicts of interest, I respectfully ask that your office work with TMB to immediately remove this individual.
Additionally, since Texas should be leading the fight against Planned Parenthood - not employing them - I also ask that you direct all state agencies to ensure there are no other Planned Parenthood officials employed by any state agency, including in advisory roles.
Texas taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize abortion providers. I’m confident you agree and am grateful for your consideration.
For liberty,
Brian Harrison
