Charlie Kirk Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom
Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s extremely disappointing that we are now on day 19 of the Democrats’ reckless and entirely preventable government shutdown. Senate Democrats have voted ten separate times to keep the government closed—making it clear they’d rather put politics ahead of the American people. Despite their obstruction, I remain focused on doing my job and serving you in Congress.
Reminder: My offices across the district and in Washington, D.C. remain open and fully staffed throughout the shutdown. If you need assistance with a federal agency or have questions about available resources, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.
Charlie Kirk Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom
Last week, President Trump posthumously awarded Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our nation’s highest civilian honor. Charlie would have celebrated his 32nd birthday that day, and while his absence is deeply felt, his influence continues to shape hearts and minds across America.
With grace and courage, Erika Kirk accepted the medal on her husband’s behalf, a powerful reminder of the faith and conviction that guided his life. Through Turning Point USA, Charlie inspired a generation to stand firm in their beliefs, love their country, and put God first.
His voice may have been silenced, but his mission endures. May God bless the Kirk family and the movement Charlie began to awaken a nation to truth and freedom.
Relief at the Pump
Oil prices have dropped to their lowest level since early 2021, and the national average for regular unleaded gas is now around $3.05 a gallon—with prices in Texas already below $3. President Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” mentality and commitment to unleashing American energy are finally paying off.
By restoring common sense to our energy policy and reducing our reliance on our adversaries, Americans are seeing real relief at the pump and renewed confidence in our nation’s energy independence.
