NEW YORK New York (Texas Insider Report) A politician would not make a good Army General whereas a Senior Corporate Executive wears those stripes daily. So it should be of no surprise that the Trumpster turns out to be the ringleader in this circus of his own making. The Trumpster relishes the attention and fans its flame.
Contrary to the media and much to their dismay this president is not an apprentice. He knows the job what is expected of him and he has an agenda. So far he is sticking to it.
While politicians are schooled in the fine art of compromise Generals (like President Trump) dont ask their lieutenants for advice. They issue orders and expect them to be carried out. Corporate executives (like President Trump) reach the pinnacle of their careers with guile manipulation bullying and unrestrained ego.
With The Man" (President Trump) in charge the change has been abrupt. We are now exposed to a whole different approach to establishing priorities. Long drawn out discussions based on position papers outlining modest goals have been replaced with go for broke" strategies that can follow a serpentine path.
In this day of tweets and Instagram controversy dominates. Reality TV is the order of the day now in Washington D.C. Emphasis can shift without a moments notice. This soap opera has no time slot so those interested surf the channels all day and night. The peoples choice is giving them just what they want. Action and reaction clog the news wires with commentary.
While the pundits question his every move the unwinding of the Obama orchestrated strangle hold on the economy is slowly taking place. In the financial world many of the restraints of the Dodd-Frank are being relaxed or removed. Mulvaney at
the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) basically retired his enforcement agents.
Scott Pruitt over at the EPA (the Environmental Protection Agency) may have a problem with his budget but as for refacing the environmental rules his record fills the bill.
Larry Kudlow recognizes his position and so far has used his platform to explain the Trumpster rather than broadcast his disagreements as did Mr. Cohen. In the Trumpsters White House loyalty stands tall. Gates Comey Tillerson and others were not the right choice. Maybe their egos encouraged them to accept the appointment. Maybe it was an opportunity to add a silver star to their personal resume. Or it may have been something as simple as an opportunity to realize the value of assets sans tax liability. A congressional gift to those who accept cabinet appointments.
With the mid-term election coming this fall the White House is well aware of the challenge before them. Domestic tweeds embroider a policy to keep jobs in America. In this service economy the Republican majority cannot afford to lose seats in both the House and the Senate. Stroking the blue collar workforce may not be good economics but it
is good politics. Even the Democrats support this cause.
These are all short term goals and are about all you can expect from a leader who is armed and ready to respond at any hour of the day on any subject that comes to his attention. The election will be the proof in the pudding.
First quarter earnings illustrated the power of the Republican crafted tax plan
The Democrats see no good from anything blessed by those on the other side of the aisle. Unfortunately the government has been polarized. Dead on Arrival (DOA) is the rubber stamp affixed to every Republican legislative proposal... as well as the Presidents Nominees.
With friends like that these who needs enemies.
- Tariffs & Sanctions are hardball efforts to arrive at trade solutions that have evaded compromise.
- China is the worlds second largest consumer market but to gain access U.S. Companies must partner and then share their intellectual property.
- Elon Musk will not offer to build his Tesla in China for this very reason.
- China auto sales volume rivals that of the US.
- Improving gas mileage is a priority worldwide.
- With OPEC demonstrating that it can strangle the worlds oil supply alternative propulsion is at the forefront of technology.
- Hybrid fueled cars are already available in our showrooms with more models next year and beyond.
- Even Ferrari has one on the drawing board.
The road to nuclear fission can be found at a childrens library. More importantly their economy cannot support its people. The Trumpster is not anti-trade he just wants the balance to favor the US whenever possible. Interestingly President Macron of France is supporting the re-emergence of the European common market. All Angela Merkel can see is a bailout of bankrupt Greece. The English Brexit idea is not complimentary to these ideas.
Legalizing marijuana at the Federal level will allow release of 10s of 1000s of non-violent residents from our jails. The horrific events at Columbine and Sandy Hook schools have had little effect on legislation. The drinking age was reset years ago to 21. But elibility for military service begins at 18 years. If you want to reduce gun related violence get it off the TV set.
And North Korea has nuclear capability. So what! If you are enamored with a military styled weapon -- Join the Army!!!
