Nancy Pelosi is the GOPs target for midterms. It worked last time.
I think that it goes without saying that we all want a continued Republican House. However current polls do not look especially promising. With midterms only seven months away Republicans have begun their ad blitz and right now the majority of those ads are targeting one person: Nancy Pelosi.
The House Democratic leader has been featured in roughly one-third (34) of all GOP broadcast ads aired in House races this year according to data provided to the USA TODAY NETWORK by Kantar Medias Campaign Media Analysis Group (CMAG) which tracks political advertising.
Obamas departure and the lack of a Clinton presidency has left Pelosi as the de facto stand-in as head of the Democratic Party" and shorthand to Republican voters for liberal big government" said Erika Franklin Fowler.
That statement from Erika Fowler speaks volumes. The Democrat Party has not had a true leader since Obama left and Hilarys constant whining has pushed some Democrats away. The last tie to the previous administration is Pelosi.
Part of the reason that Republicans swept into the majority back in 2010 was Pelosi and her aggressive maneuvering to push the Obama agenda. While it remains to be seen how successful Republicans will be in the coming months one thing is sure: there will be a whole lot more ads about Nancy Pelosi and how terrible her leadership has been.
