When the state of our union is strong, we all win.
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, DC – President Trump’s third State of the Union Address this week was an inspiring and optimistic message that should encourage every American. Our economy is doing better than ever, and the President is delivering on his promises to our Texas workers, families, and businesses by creating more opportunity for growth and prosperity.
Under his leadership, nearly 900,000 jobs have been created in our home state alone, thanks to his pro-growth and pro-America agenda. These results should be celebrated, regardless of political affiliation.
Sadly, that was not the case in Congress on Tuesday. It was incredibly disheartening to see my Democrat colleagues refuse to stand for those who embody what America is all about. They refused to stand for little Ellie Schneider, a happy and healthy two-year-old girl who was born at just 21 weeks and six days. They refused to honor a 100-year-old Tuskegee airman and his great grandson who dreams of attending the Air Force Academy and eventually going to space.
These individuals are shining examples of the American spirit that should serve as a reminder of the immense blessing we have to live in the greatest nation on earth.
Speaker Pelosi’s decision to rip up her copy of President Trump’s speech was a slap in the face to our democracy – it was a classless, disgraceful political stunt. She not only ripped up a document that belongs to the American people, she ripped up good news for our workers, stories of survival and hope for our families, and the names of American heroes. Rather than celebrate the Great American Comeback, Democrats chose to hit a new low.
I am proud to stand with the President as we put our nation and citizens first, championing policies that support American workers, keep our families safe and defend our interests around the globe.
In God we trust,
