The Trump Vibe Is Growing and the Left Is Big Mad

By Kurt Schlichter

Kamala Harris’s losing campaign for president was infamous for its focus on vibe, a kind of inchoate feeling of joy that supposedly swept the nation and was supposed to sweep her into office. We all saw how that turned out. But now, there’s a new vibe in town, and you can feel it. The victory of Donald Trump and the astonishing popularity of his transition is only part of it. There’s more going on here. We may have just turned a corner on the road to civilization’s collapse into woke commie ruin.

Let’s not get too full of ourselves, though. Overseas, Great Britain is no longer great, having abandoned its history of free speech to arrest people for unapproved tweets even as it empowers its bureaucracy to impose death upon those the bureaucrats deem unworthy of life, naturally all in the name of compassion. Here at home, the left seems completely unwilling and/or unable to confront why we so completely rejected it. It will continue to fight against normality and decency. It will continue to struggle against freedom and prosperity. But it is losing.

It’s been clear for a while that the best strategy for Trump to continue his movement beyond the end of his remaining term is to re-create the feel of the 1980s through an economic boom, internal security, and international strength.  Astonishingly, he is already managing to do that with just under two months to go until the inauguration. Moreover, society seems to be coming out of its collective insanity, rejecting the bizarre perversions and weirdness of wokeness. We may be at the dawn of a remarkable new era in American history. If only we could get some new music to match those amazing Reagan-era chart-toppers

The polls are in. People overwhelmingly support Donald Trump’s transition. His cabinet reflects his coalition, not the bizarre block-checking that the leftists do where there’s one slot, and only one slot, set aside for a differently-abled non-binary Māori Zoroastrian. If you gave Donald Trump a chance and you aren’t a conservative like most of us are, you’re still seeing your views reflected in the Trump cabinet. That’s how you build and maintain a coalition. That’s how you get shockingly high poll numbers for a guy who was so controversial up until about last week.

In stark contrast to the chaos of the first few weeks of his first administration, the first few weeks of the second Trump administration will be marked by calculation, coherence, and, above all, calmness. Every once in a while, Donald Trump still tweets something hilarious that freaks out the squares, like about the “leftist lunatics” at Thanksgiving, but we’re not getting the daily fights with Rosie O’Donnell that characterized last time. There are no buffoons like Scaramucci or Omarosa wandering about. Trump is picking his cabinet, not having it picked for him by the establishment for its own ends. This is a serious Trump. This is a focused Trump. And this is an effective Trump.

The economy is already reflecting the optimism of the coming Trump agenda. His Treasury secretary choice has been widely praised. The stock market is hitting record highs. Despite the lingering effects of inflation, holiday spending seems to be up. And people are optimistic that DOGE, under the guidance of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, will actually cut the swollen federal budget and bureaucracy. Hopefully, the House and the Senate will be able to get their acts together, but incoming Senate Appropriations Committee chairwoman Susan Collins seems to understand pretty clearly that Job One is getting the tax cuts made permanent. That was the key to Reagan’s economic success.

As far as internal security, Tom Homan is already out there terrifying the Third World peasants that the Biden administration invited to invade our country. And the response by the left has been utterly hilarious. For some reason, they are obsessed with guacamole and avocados, as if having to spend a couple of bucks more at Taco Tuesday is going to deter us from saving our country from being swamped by uninvited illegal aliens who suck up our tax benefits while raping and murdering our citizens. The leftists keep asking who’s going to do the manual labor for us, and it’s fascinating to see Democrats revert to form. Their big priority has always been to create a servile class of exploited workers to enrich them. As others have pointed out, the Democrats haven’t been so angry since we freed their (previous) slaves.

Internationally, we’ve got Justin Trudeau flying into Florida to fall to his knees and lap at Donald Trump’s Gucci shoes in abject supplication. While the Castro cuckbaby is near Miami, he can visit some relatives! The elected dictator of Mexico is responding to Trump’s threat of tariffs with a few feeble spasms of anger, and, of course, the Democrats are supporting her over America because Democrats hate America and love Third World potentates. But overall, she understands her place in the chain of command, which is at the bottom – the top being God, the second being Donald Trump, and the third not mattering because they are foreigners. Over in Ukraine, Zelensky appears to be bowing to the obvious, which is that he can’t win this war no matter how much money we shovel at him, and that the largely Russian-speaking provinces that Putin grabbed are likely to stay with the Russians. I’d prefer the Ukrainians win the war – I trained their soldiers – but like Donald Trump, my main interest is what’s good for the United States, and what’s good for the United States is to end this bloody debacle and to erase the risk of sucking us into World War III with a nuclear power over a border dispute in a part of the world we don’t understand. And in the Middle East, Netanyahu has managed to give himself a two-month breather before Trump comes back into office, and then he will be free to annihilate the semi-human savages who started this war without having to worry about Washington having Israel’s back.

But it’s more than just Donald Trump putting out a fresh political vibe. There’s a new cultural vibe, and you can feel it everywhere. You can feel it when your favorite athlete does the Trump dance after a touchdown. YMCA is not some tiresome girl power anthem warbled by a future cat lady. It’s catchy. It’s fun. And it’s a rejection of the kind of dour and miserable people who complain that Thanksgiving is about oppressing indigenous people and blah blah blah blah blah.
Shut up and dance, you tiresome pinko goobers. We’re the kids in America (Oooohhh), everybody live for the music-go-round!

You can feel it when you see girls' volleyball teams forfeiting rather than playing against a team with a man on it. You can feel it when you see a man pretending to be a woman who was elected to Congress by stupid people in Delaware trying to hang out in the women’s restroom and fail. People are done with this crap. Watch the Trump administration ban the castration of kids to conform to the delusions of their Munchhausen mommies. It should go further and ban it for adults, too, because the height of barbarity is mutilating sick people.

The congressional bathroom fight highlighted the feeling that we’re over it, that this is an argument from the past, and that we are through with such nonsense. You saw that also with the obnoxious and curiously unattractive little starlet from the Snow White movie that Disney is about to lose a couple hundred million dollars on. She came out with some weird woke resistance rant, again, and it wasn’t irritating as much as it was anachronistic, like something you’d expect from 2020. And then, of course, there was that dumb Jaguar ad without any cars featuring a collection of gender-whatever weirdos, losers, and mutations, frolicking on-screen, looking like something that might’ve made a cultural splash a few years ago. Now it just looks tired and old and silly. Those clowns aren’t edgy. They’re not rebels. They’re just dorks. If you ever wanted to drive a can of Bud Light, head on down to your Jaguar dealer.
It feels like a change is coming. It feels like we’re entering a new era. Trump is the avatar of normality, ready to make America America again before making America great again. All the wokesters, communists, climate change hoaxers, creepy perverts, people who give land acknowledgments, and all those other freaks who have been troubling us for the last decade – they’re done. Their reign of hectoring is over. We’re tired of them. They’re stupid, and they’re boring. Their time has come and gone.

We are so back, baby. Now, if we can only get some great new music too
