Tough on Crime Always Works

An Evil Reality

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, a mid-year crime report was released, pointing to what we already know: President Trump’s “tough on crime” agenda is working. Homicides in the nation’s largest cities are down 17.2% from the first half of last year. The National Guard has continued to show up, regardless of the conditions, to protect the American people, and lives are being saved as a result.

In our nation’s capital, homicides are down 43.9%, a breath of fresh air for those who live there, but also those who come to visit Washington, D.C. President Trump ran on an agenda to protect the American people and ensure those who are seeking to do harm don’t have the opportunity to get here in the first place.

This is yet another example of promises made, promises kept.  Over the last two years, we’ve seen murders and other violent crimes drop to levels our nation hasn’t seen in more than a century.

Restoring American Dominance From the Land to the Sea
President Trump made a historic investment in our nation’s maritime dominance and American manufacturing last week. America’s ability to retain a competitive advantage on the seas is directly tied to our national security. Through increasing capacity, investing in component supply chains, and going back to designs that are proven and effective, President Trump is revitalizing our shipbuilding industry, an investment made today that will pay dividends in the years to come.

The Working Families Tax Cuts Act continues to put money back into the American economy, and the manufacturing industry is taking off because of it. Domestic manufacturing activity took off in the month of July, experiencing the strongest expansion in more than four years. As President Trump brings auto manufacturing back to America, Texas is on the frontlines of reaping the benefits. Toyota just announced a $3.6 billion investment to bring Tacoma production to Texas, resulting in the creation of thousands of high-tech jobs in the Lone Star State.

An Evil Reality
Last week, the governor of Massachusetts signed a horrifying bill allowing abortion up until birth. But as disturbing as the legislation itself was, the scene surrounding its signing was equally chilling. Governor Healey and her allies posed for photos, smiling, clapping, and celebrating legislation that will mean more unborn children lose their lives.

There is nothing empowering, compassionate, or worthy of celebration about abortion. Watching elected leaders turn the destruction of innocent human life into a cheering photo op should outrage every American who believes our most vulnerable deserve protection.

Scripture could not be clearer: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” The unborn cannot march, vote, lobby Congress, or plead for their own lives. They depend on us to defend them.
