Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON, D.C. – This past week, President Trump returned to the world stage to remind our allies and adversaries what strong American leadership looks like. From Malaysia and Japan to South Korea and China, he advanced America’s interests — brokering peace between Thailand and Cambodia, securing new trade and mineral deals that reduce our dependence on China, and expanding market access for U.S. agriculture and industry.
While Senate Democrats refuse to reopen the government, President Trump continues to deliver — strengthening our economy, protecting our sovereignty, and proving that America is leading again.
Government Shutdown Update: Critical Agencies Unresponsive
As the Schumer Shutdown drags on, my office continues hearing from Texans who are directly impacted by the government’s partial closure. Unfortunately, many federal agencies have notified us that they are unable to respond to or process congressional casework until government funding is restored.
Below are the agencies currently unresponsive or unable to initiate, dispatch, or respond to requests:
- Department of Veterans Affairs
- Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) / Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
- Social Security Administration (regional and local offices)
- U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
- Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
- U.S. Postal Service (USPS)
I’m urging Senate Democrats to join House and Senate Republicans in voting to reopen the government immediately so that we can get back to serving you and ensuring that Americans who rely on these critical services aren’t left waiting.
Enough is enough — it’s time to put the American people first and end this needless shutdown.
Babin to Fox: Democrats Own This Shutown
Last week, I joined David Asman on Fox Business to talk about where we stand as Democrats continue to hold the government—and hardworking Americans—hostage. With the holidays fast approaching, we’re already seeing the threat this poses to travel and transportation across the country.
It’s beyond me how even major airline unions and the four largest carriers are urging Senate Democrats to pass a continuing resolution, yet they still refuse to budge. It’s time to put politics aside and reopen the government for the American people.
