“President Trump and Vice President Vance have been steadfast in their support of ranchers and small businesses who are working to rebuild our Great American Cattle Herd. That’s why we are so pleased to have Vice President Vance announce USDA’s newest investment in a locally owned beef processing facility right here in West Texas,” said Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins. “This new facility will process 400 head of cattle a day, and create 220 new jobs in the great Texas community of Dimmitt.”
The project was initiated by 36 local investors who are involved in raising cattle throughout the Texas Panhandle. Their goal is to develop an alternative to major national meat‑processing companies and support more competitive beef prices. The new facility will provide jobs with an average wage of $30 per hour, strengthening the regional economy and supporting producers.USDA’s B&I Guaranteed Loan Program provides loan guarantees to support business development, job creation and retention, and economic growth in rural areas.
