Congressman Roger Williams Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. I have spent the past two weeks crisscrossing through our great district to meet with all of you and hear your ideas and concerns that I can take back with me to Washington. I met with many small business owners and employees school district officials and healthcare experts - I had a great time talking about everyday issues we all face and how I can help yall. Below are some highlights Id like to share: Congressional Art Competition Update Each spring a nation-wide high school art competition is sponsored by the Congressional Institute. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation as well as in our congressional district. All entries must be: original in concept design and execution; two-dimensional; framed; and weigh no more than 15 pounds (including frame) and measure no more than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall by 4 inches deep (including frame). Southern Border Update The safety of Americans is absolutely paramount and as a strong supporter of tougher immigration laws I applaud President Trump and DHSs announcement to further address our border security loopholes by deploying the National Guard to the southern border. I have always been in favor of using any and all means necessary including more boots on the ground to secure our nations borders. I will remain dedicated to working with the President and this Congress to ensure we take additional steps to combat threats to our nation and keep our citizens safe.
