Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Last week I gaveled in the first full hearing of the House Committee on Small Business titled “From Nothing to Something: The Story of the American Dream.” During this hearing, we heard from entrepreneurs from around the country about the increasing challenges their businesses are facing every day.
One of those entrepreneurs, Mr. Drew Davis, a 17-year-old with cerebral palsy and the owner/operator of Crippling Hot Sauce spoke about how inflation and supply chain issues have impacted his business.
Financial Services Committee
This week in the Financial Services Committee we passed two bipartisan bills that I co-authored.- The Bank Service Company Examination Coordination Act relieves the burden on community banks caused by federal and state inefficiencies while continuing to protect and serve American consumers.
- The China Financial Threat Mitigation Act takes an important step in addressing these concerns by requiring the Department of Treasury to report on the risks coming from the Chinese financial sector, along with recommendations on strengthening international cooperation to monitor and mitigate these risks.
