It's past time to rein in spending and put America first.
By Cong. Roger Williams
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – Many small business owners are facing higher costs and possible penalties due to the lack of guidance from FinCEN on the confusing and complicated new rules being implemented by this agency that few have even heard of. The Small Business Working Group Act promotes coordination between FinCEN and Main Street America by providing an opportunity for small businesses to learn about these rules to ensure they are set up for success. I thank my colleagues on the Financial Services Committee for supporting this resolution and look forward to its consideration on the floor soon.

International Association of Drilling Contractors’ Legislator of the Year
Not long ago, the United States was the largest energy producer in the world, and power was affordable for homes and businesses. In Congress, I am fighting to maximize the production of reliable, American-made energy and end our dangerous reliance on foreign countries.
We must put America first and make energy independence a top priority – and it was an honor to be named Legislator of the Year by the International Association of Drilling Contractors.
House Committee on Small Business Holds NIL Hearing
I led a hearing focused on the impact of the NCAA’s "Name, Image & Likeness" policy (NIL) across college athletics. We discussed how we can inspire student athletes to utilize the skills they learned navigating NIL to start their own small business, what we can do to stop predatory agents and bad actors from taking advantage of student athletes, how non-revenue generating sports will fare if all the money gets funneled to the sports that make money, what role the federal government should play in all of this, and more.

Federal regulators have been bombarding our financial system with excessive regulations and dangerous proposals like Basal III Endgame and long-term debt requirements. It is concerning that multiple of our federal banking agencies are rolling out these proposals one-by-one in a rushed fashion without considering how these regulations and requirements will impact innovation, limit access to capital, and threaten economic stability.
Our mission, and the mission of regulators, should be to allow the economy to thrive – not tighten their grip on the financial system.
Regulators should provide an analysis of the potential effects on any proposals that make significant changes to our financial regulatory framework.

In the News
As the border crisis worsens in Texas, and its deadly effects continue to spread throughout our nation, Biden posed for photos with Ukraine's Zelenskyy at the White House.
This is a crisis of Biden’s making, is fueled by reckless policies, and complete disregard for our sovereignty, national security, and the safety of our communities, yet Biden has only visited the border once and refuses to take accountability and secure our nation.
Instead, in the midst of a historic border crisis and looming government shutdown, Biden and Congressional Democrats are adamant about sending billions more to Ukraine. The American people deserve to know where their money is going.
It is past time to rein in spending and put the safety and well-being of America first.
