For too long, President Biden and his overreaching EPA have ignored the voices of small businesses such as farmers, ranchers, and real estate developers.
Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Biden recently released his proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Budget, and – sadly, but not surprisingly – he doubles down on out-of-control spending and increased taxes for hard-working Americans. During a time when families and small businesses are battling runaway inflation, increased interest rates, broken supply chains, and a growing labor shortage we should be focusing on reducing federal spending and giving Americans the relief they deserve.
Thankfully, with a Republican-led House, these massive tax increases and spending spree will never see the light of day.
House Overturns Administration’s new 'Waters of the U.S.'
This week, the House passed H.J. Res 27 to overturn the Biden White House’s new "Waters of the United States" rule that would increase uncertainty and compliance costs for many small businesses.
Since President Biden was sworn into office, the regulatory actions of his administration have cost the private sector nearly $360 billion in compliance costs – and an estimated 220 million hours in new paperwork requirements.
For too long, President Biden and his overreaching EPA have ignored the voices of small businesses such as farmers, ranchers, and real estate developers.
Prior to voting on the legislation, the House Committee on Small Business – which I chair – hosted businesses from around the country to hear how this rule would be detrimental to them.
Holding China Accountable
On Friday, I was proud to vote for the COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023 holding China accountable for unleashing COVID on the world. Americans deserve to know the truth and this act requires the Biden Administration to declassify all information relating to potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the origin of COVID-19.
I will continue to fight for transparency for the American people to ensure we hold Communist China accountable.
