CONG. WILLIAMS: Holding President Biden, His Administration, and Out-of-Control Federal Government Accountable

To date, my Small Business Committee has made significant strides to stop over-regulation & support small business growth

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – These first 7 months of the 118th Congress, I have been dedicated to representing the values and ideals of Texas' 25th District – and I will continue to ensure we are holding President Joe Biden, his Administration, and the out-of-control federal agencies accountable. House Republicans have passed bills addressing issues on border security, lowering energy costs, and protecting women and girls, among countless others.

As we approach the last five months of the year, we will have many more issues to address and I look forward to hearing from you on what is most important to you.

Upcoming: Co-Hosting the North Texas Job Fair

I am proud to co-host the 2023 North Texas Job Fair. There are over 275 confirmed businesses that will be attending, and I welcome all North Texans to attend. Small Business Committee Accomplishments

As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, I am committed to ensuring the voices of small businesses from around the country are being heard in Congress. I will always be a fierce advocate for capitalism and pro-growth policies. To date, my committee has made significant strides to stop over-regulation and support small business growth. We have:

  • Held 20 hearings focusing on important issues such as the $200 million dollars worth of COVID fraud, protecting small businesses from overreaching Waters of the US rule by the EPA, and many more.
  • Passed 19 bills out of committee to be sent to the House floor, five of which were received favorably and sent to the Senate for consideration. These pieces of legislation include improving veterans' entrepreneurship programs, SBA accountability, and reducing overburdensome federal regulations.
Penned and sent 50 oversight letters to agencies needing to be reigned in. Many of these letters focus on agencies that are forcing unnecessary and costly regulations on already struggling business, and continue to mislead or outright lie to Congress and the American people.

Financial Services Committee Accomplishments

The House Financial Services Committee has been hard at work focusing on what matters most to hardworking families – with an emphasis on innovation and economic opportunity.

In just 7 months, our country has faced important issues such as the failure of three large U.S. Banks, threats from the Chinese Communist Party on our financial systems, and economic mismanagement by the Biden administration. Highlights from the committee include:

  • My legislative efforts:
    • Passed out of the House: H.R. 1156, The China Financial Threat Mitigation Act
    • Passed out of Committee: H-J-Res. 66, Congressional Review Act disapproving of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Small Business Lending Data Collection Rule.
  • 43 hearings were held to hear how we can provide relief, stability, and support to every American while providing necessary but non-burdensome safeguards against those looking to harm our country.
  • Over 100 oversight letters penned and sent to the Federal Reserve, SEC, and Treasury, to name a few.
  • 46 bills sent to the House floor, with 21 bills passed to be considered by the Senate.
August Outlook

During the month of August, the House of Representatives and Senate travel back to our respective districts to meet with and hear from our constituents.

I look forward to this time back in Texas and, as always, will take your values and feedback with me to Washington, D.C.

Congressman Roger Williams represents the 25th Congressional District of Texas, located outside of the City of Ft. Worth. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Small Business Committee.
