It's all about the “oppressed” and the “oppressors” – and right now, Israel is the oppressor

AUSTIN, Texas (Texas Insider Report) — The Left runs our colleges – we all know that. But the recent congressional hearings on antisemitism laid bare what decades of left-wing instruction have wrought. Trust me, there is no other place that college students get their “liberal education” than from their professors.
For years, they shouted down conservative speakers – and cancelled historical figures that don’t measure up to their idea of equity. But when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th, and large numbers of professors and students took the side of the terrorists, it became too much.
Now that we all know colleges are centers of left-wing political activism, the question becomes: what are we going to do about it?
Unfortunately, colleges are places where no really pays a price.
University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill stepped down the face of withering criticism from member of Congress, the media, alumni, and even the White House. The reason: she seemed to dodge a question at those hearings, saying that hate speech against Jews was a matter of context. The clueless president of Harvard, Dr. Claudine Gay (a former Black Studies professor) gushed out the same nonsense.
It's all about the “oppressed” and the “oppressors,” you see, and right now, on campus – Israel is the oppressor.
This is so much bullcrap – but the students are not capable of independent thought at their age, so they appear to regurgitate what they hear from their lefty professors.
But what price will they pay? Not much, really. Get this quote from Scott L. Bok (who, himself resigned from his position as chair of the Penn Board of Trustees) in his message to the “Penn Community”:

Oh so? She still has tenure? She’s not fired?
She will still teach left-wing nonsense to future groups of mush-headed students at this “elite” college.
It reminds me of Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M.
Coach Jimbo was supposed to be holding the national football championship trophy high over his head by now. But with four-and-five-star recruits, the Aggies never got close. So Jimbo was fired and sent packing.
But college football coaches have a sort of tenure in their golden contracts. A&M will pay out some $75 million dollars to Fisher just to go away. He’s already been replaced with another multi-million dollar coach.
If that’s not punishment, then what is?
What does punishment look like on a major university campus? The closest I’ve seen is when conservative writer Ann Coulter used to get pies thrown at her.
At Berkeley, back in 2017, CNN reported that Milo Yiannopoulos was successful repelled by left-wing students – or by somebody:
Protests that erupted at UC Berkeley ahead of a planned Wednesday appearance by right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos caused $100,000 worth of damage to the campus, the school said Thursday.
The university blamed “150 masked agitators” for the unrest, saying they had come to campus to disturb an otherwise peaceful protest.

So maybe it’s time colleges to get back to the basics.
Ditch the left-wing politics. Get rid of tenured professors who feel empowered to teach anti-Americanism and spread antisemitism. Fire professors like Ward Churchill and Robert Jensen who preach to the classes that the U.S. committed genocide or the evils of capitalism – or how terrible masculinity is.
Abolish “junk academics” like Black Studies and Feminist studies that are just grievance classes.
And can we please stop with stupid classes that study Taylor Swift?
It's also time for colleges to put football and basketball back into some reasonable perspective. Paying a football coach $5 million is obscene, unnecessary, and a waste of money.
Big universities used to be places of open-mindedness and learning in the classroom and school spirit on the playing field. Now, they seem to be places where those they employ are protected from serious consequences whether in the classroom, the administration, or on the field of play.
