HEGAR: Texas Economy Grew 10.5% in December When Measured by Yearly Sales Tax Growth

State sales tax revenue is the largest source of funding for the Texas State Budget, accounting for 56% of all tax collections. With the 2023 State Legislative Session beginning next week, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced earlier today that State Sales Tax Revenues in December 2022 were 10.5% more than December 2021, and had increased 11.2% from the 3-month fourth quarter 2021 to 2022.
