Applicants must submit a notice of intent to apply by April 23, 2026 at 5:00 pm CDT and submit formal applications by May 14, 2026, at 5:00 pm CDT.

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4 billion in March, 10% more than in March 2025. And, total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in March 2026 was up 6.9% compared with the same period a year earlier. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state's budget, accounting for 58% of tax collections.

Paychecks began flowing this week to many of the 59,000 heroic TSA Agents who've gone without pay for many weeks. Initial reports say agents have stopped calling in sick and are reporting for duty. Great right? Not to Congressional Dems who care more about creating havoc than getting workers paid.  They are refusing to fund the Dept. of Homeland Security and say they'll file a lawsuit to block President Trump from "illegally" paying TSA Agents.

As Chairman of the House of Representative's Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism & Intelligence, I questioned witnesses during a hearing last week on the real-world impacts of the Democrats' shutdown of DHS, the Dept. of Homeland Security – including its Agencies, Missions, and Workforce. The consequences are clear: frontline personnel facing overwhelming operational strain.
