BRADY: Democrat's New 'Build Back Better" Plan Would Impose $300 Billion in Taxes as Nation Heads Into Recession

“Who in their right mind raises taxes as America heads into a recession? It’s dangerous."

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) — “To me this seems very deceptive. They (Democrats) had taken Tax Hikes off the table, and now they’ve put them back on – that’s $300 billion landing on U.S. companies that employ American workers and that build things in America. As we’re going into a recession, it makes no sense at all – but they do have a bunch of 'Green New Deal' subsidies in there, so (in order to get something passed) those things ought to be backed off,” Texas Cong. Kevin Brady told Fox New's Morning Show while preparing for tonight’s Annual Congressional Baseball Game at Washington National’s Park (pictured above,) near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

“I wish the White House had a vaccine for ‘denial,’ because their in denial about the recession, worker shortages, inflation – they’re just panicked at this point. This economy is so cruel to American workers, and they (the Democrat's policies,) made it that way.

"Tax hikes on American businesses as we’re going into a recession makes no sense at all,” said the former Chairman of the House Ways & Means Committee, who will be retiring at the end of the year.

“Who in their right mind raises taxes as America heads into a recession? It’s dangerous," said Brady after the U.S. Department of Labor announced a 7th straight month of double-digit inflation had caused a key indicator of future consumer prices to jump 11.3% over the previous year.

Raging Inflation Is Bad News for Consumers... and for Businesses Too

“This is another dose of bad news. Inflation is raging for Main Street businesses, and that means higher prices ahead for consumers," said the Ways & Means Committee's Republican Leader after wholesale prices for businesses jumped 11.3% from the previous year when measured by the Producer Price Index (PPI.)

"With seven straight months of double-digit inflation in wholesale prices, this translates into higher prices and no relief anytime soon for consumers – all of which makes it even more alarming that Congressional Democrats and President Biden are cooking up $1 trillion in higher taxes on Main Street businesses that will only drive prices higher and crush family-owned farms and businesses,' said Brady.

Congressman Brady will be retiring after this Session of Congress, and this evening's Congressional Baseball Game will be televised on Fox Sports 2 beginning @ 7:30 EST.
