Texas Economy Continues Strong Growth: Comptroller Hegar says Monthly Sales Tax Revenues Up from 2022

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will be sending Cities, Counties, Transit Systems and Special Purpose Districts across the state $1 billion in Local Sales Tax Allocations for March – which is up 9.9% when compared to what was sent in March 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.












 

When used with other local indicators, the Comptroller's Office says these reports may help indicate the direction of present, and/or future economic trends.

• Cities – listed alphabetically by city name.
• Cities by County – listed alphabetically by county name, then alphabetically by cities within the county. For example:
  • Bastrop (county)
  • Bastrop (city)
  • Elgin (city)
  • Smithville (city)
• Top 20 Cities – largest current year-to-date amounts.
• Counties – listed alphabetically by county name.
• Metropolitan Transit Authorities (MTAs) and city transit departments (CTDs) – listed alphabetically by entity name.
• Special-Purpose Districts (SPDs) – listed alphabetically by district name.
• Single Local Use Tax Rate Comparison Summary – listed alphabetically by Authority Type then by Authority Name
• Local Sales and Use Tax Rate Information – rate changes for the last 14 months.
