Land Commissioner Takes Steps to Secure the Border!
By Dawn Buckingham, Texas General Land Commisssioner
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – As soon as Donald Trump begins his 2nd Term as President, my office will be standing by, ready to work with the Federal Government to begin building Deportation Facilities on Texas land to help protect our state and country from criminal illegal immigrants who would do harm to American citizens. I started by offering a 1,400-acre plot of land to facilitate this initiative – and am now extending that offer to additional land under the jurisdiction of the Texas General Land Office.
Last week, I was joined by several members of the Texas Legislature, Congressman Chip Roy, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council Chris Cabrera, and the mother and grandmother of Jocelyn Nungaray in a ceremonial launch of “The Jocelyn Initiative,” a new endeavor by the General Land Office to help secure the Southern Border.
Under this initiative, the Texas General Land Office will locate all the land under my jurisdiction that can be used by the federal government for deportation operations.
This incredibly important work gets its name from Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old girl who was brutally assaulted and murdered by two illegal immigrants earlier this year.

At the event, we observed a moment of silence in remembrance of Jocelyn as the State of Texas installed a border wall panel.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s complete failure to protect our citizens has led to the loss of innocent American children like Jocelyn, Laken Riley, and Lizbeth Medina.
As Land Commissioner, I am committed to using my stewardship of over 13 million acres across Texas to protect the people of our great state and nation.
