Rep. Gonzales Pushes Effort Condemning Biden White House’s Failed Border Policies

Rep. Gonzales’ legislation will be voted on in the U.S. House of Representatives this week

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – "The people of my district see it firsthand every day — the border crisis is in our backyard," said Congressman Tony Gonzales, who represents the largest border district in the U.S. House of Representatives, as he introduced legislation condemning the Biden Administration’s failure to enforce the nation's Immigration Laws and secure our borders.

“Americans are fed up with President Biden’s broken immigration policies,” said Gonzales.

Texas' 23rd Congressional District spans 823 miles of the Texas-Mexico border, and includes Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and El Paso.

"My resolution takes this administration to task for its failure to protect our homeland and keep Americans safe. I urge my colleagues to support this legislation and say –  enough is enough."

Congressman Gonzales’ resolution reaffirms House Republicans’ commitment to protecting our homeland, ensuring our immigration laws are enforced, and holding the Biden administration accountable for its dangerous open borders agenda. The resolution also urges the Biden administration to correct its failed immigration policies and mitigate the national security threats that have ensued.

Specifically, Gonzales’ legislation condemns the Biden administration for:

  • Systematically dismantling effective border security measures and immigration enforcement
  • Incentivizing 9,500,000 illegal immigrants from all around the world, including bad actors and suspected terrorists, to arrive at the southern border
  • Allowing at least 6,400,000 illegal immigrants from the southern border to travel to American communities
  • Engaging in mass catch-and-release policies and abusing our nation’s asylum process
  • Failing to deport illegal immigrants who do not qualify for asylum
  • Violating United States immigration law by abusing discretionary case-by-case and other parole authorities to mass parole illegal immigrants who would otherwise have no legal basis to enter and remain in the United States
  • Engaging in policies that made it possible for bad actors and criminals to enter the country and harm innocent Americans like Laken Riley
