“President Biden’s speech (to the Nation yesterday) was a disappointing and divisive attempt to turn this moment of genuine crisis into partisan bickering – he even bizarrely blamed Afghan troops who fought and died alongside our troops for decades for his failure," said Sen. Ted Cruz, calling for a thorough investigation of the intelligence analysis and political calculations that went into the catastrophe.
“Americans, including myself, have fought and many have died in Afghanistan for two decades to ensure another 9/11 tragedy never happens again on our shores. The Biden Administration’s careless approach to allow it to get to this dire point will not be forgotten on the world stage anytime soon,” said Congressman Gonzales, who served two decades in the Navy as a cryptologist.
“Texas ABLE allows parents of children living with disabilities to Save & Invest for their children’s future – and allows adults with disabilities to save to improve their own lives,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, noting that the month of August promotes awareness of the program that helps provide financial security for Texans with Disabilities.
Is there any issue on which Joe Biden and his team of left-wing advisors have been right? You’d think, if only by accident, they’d get something right, after all, a stopped clock is right twice a day. But you’d be wrong.
"I hate to say this, I hope we don’t have to go back there – but it will be a threat to the United States homeland in a matter of time," said the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Texas Cong. Michael McCaul, commenting on how President Biden has created an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions by pulling U.S. troops out of Afghanistan – without a clear plan to handle the dramatic repercussions.
A new Rasmussen Poll finds 51% of "Likely U.S. Voters" agree with Republican Sen. John Kennedy’s denunciation of the $1.2 trillion "infrastructure package" when he said, “Only 23% of the bill is real 'infrastructure.' The rest is Green New Deal and welfare. They told us it was a real 'infrastructure' bill. It’s not. They told us the bill was paid for. It isn’t." And, 63% disagree with "Defunding the Police."
Yes, you read that right. In Texas' Rio Grande Valley – where the Nation's 10 Most Hispanic Populated Counties are found – Hispanic voters moved en masse for Donald Trump. And regardless of the reason or reasons why, 3rd-Generation or higher Hispanic Voters joined with evangelicals, men, Cuban Americans, and other conservative pro-American groups to create a long-standing Republican base.
The Biden White House & Congressional Democrats control all of the levers of power, and they're using it to "transform" the country in a way that not many American voters – including even Democrats – thought they were buying into. And there's no pot of gold at the end of that rainbow – just poverty, despair and bankruptcy. But... here's where the story gets interesting!
Senate Democrats finally released their $3.5 trillion Budget Resolution Package on Monday, and as expected, it includes a laundry-list of the party’s non-budget related priorities – including the creation of a pathway to citizenship or residency for “millions of immigrant workers and families.” Its the latest step in clearing the way for President Biden and Congressional Democrat’s far-left policy agenda, and its designed to be passed without Republican support.
This has nothing to do with any threat Donald Trump or his supporters pose to the republic, as left-wing Media Alarmists continue to insist. It does have everything to do with Democrat's horrible and lackluster down-ballot performance in the 2020 Congressional & state-level elections – along with Trump’s clear intention to be very much involved in Republican's 2022 midterm elections.
In a demonstrably meritless lawsuit, after fleeing to Washington, D.C., 22 Texas House Democrats have sued some of the state’s top Republican leaders in Federal Court in Austin over their efforts to bring them home for a Special Legislative Session. The complaint reads like a press release from the DNC – asking a Federal Court to allow a lawsuit based on their own decisions to flee the state.
"These bills provide over $600 million in relief to homeowners for first year homestead exemptions! Property Tax Relief's been one of my top priorities since I was elected, but the walkout by the House Democrat Caucus means this tax relief is delayed," said State Sen. Paul Bettencourt, as SB 8, SB 12 and SJR 2 were passed out of committee for the second time this year.
Texas will operate a newly created Broadband Development Office (BDO) to award grants, low-interest loans, and other financial incentives to internet service providers who expand access to broadband service in underserved areas, says Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar.
Were I a better person maybe I could tone it down to extreme dislike – but I’m not a better person, at least not tonight. While there’s never a good week with leftists in charge, last week was particularly bad. You shouldn’t write angry, but deadlines don’t wait for calm… and I wish them all ill.
"I will continue to call Special Session after Special Session to reform our broken bail system, uphold election integrity, and pass other important items that Texans demand and deserve," said Governor Greg Abbott yesterday, announcing he'll convene a 2nd Special Legislative Session at 12:00 p.m. on August 7, 2021. Abbott identified the following 17 agenda items for the session.
“With Gov. Abbott promptly calling us back for another Special Session, I want Texans to know the Texas Senate stands ready to begin our work immediately. We'll have a quorum, will begin Committee Hearings this weekend, and bills will be heard on the Senate Floor beginning next week,," said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick following Gov. Abbott’s call for an immediate 2nd Special Session beginning Saturday at 12 noon.
"The Wall Street Journal rightly called it, ‘A major down payment on President Biden’s Green New Deal.’ That’s exactly what this bill is," said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz from the floor of the U.S. Senate, while slamming "the bait and switch" of the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package – followed by a $3.5 trillion Democrat wish list. You can read his excerpted highlights here below.
