U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz (R-Texas) toured OpenAI’s flagship AI data center in Abilene, Texas. Following the tour, Oracle and OpenAI announced an additional expansion of the flagship Stargate site in Abilene in addition to a $500 billion commitment to build a series of AI data centers in the U.S., including plans to open a site in Shackelford County, Texas.

We must stand against the unjust persecution of Christians in Nigeria who are being brutally murdered simply for their faith. As a Christian myself, this is personal, and I will not stay silent while men, women, and children are targeted for what they believe. This senseless violence must end peacefully. I joined my colleagues on the Values Action Team (VAT) to commend President Trump's leadership on this issue and call for the end of Christian persecution in Nigeria.
Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today issued the following statement in response to Gov. Greg Abbott’s call for an investigation into Texas Southern University’s finances: "Accountability and transparency are essential to maintaining public trust. Waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer funds will not be tolerated. My office will provide any and every tool necessary to expose what went wrong and who’s responsible. Texans deserve the truth, and they will get it."
"We must determine whether American ranchers and consumers are being squeezed while these massive corporations' profit through price manipulation and collusion. I applaud the President’s bold leadership and urge the Department of Justice to expedite this investigation. If it is found that these companies are exploiting our ranchers, harming consumers, and undermining our food security, they must be held accountable.”
Democrats are the evil party, but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid. In fact, I often have to remind people that they are evil, not stupid, to explain why they do the things they do. It explains why, after more than 6 weeks, they suddenly decided to vote to reopen the government. It wasn’t because they felt people were suffering – you don’t subscribe to a political philosophy responsible for 100 million deaths in the last century if you have concern over suffering – but because it was electoral politics, plain and simple.
Apparently restrooms on Capitol Hill and in the nation’s National Parks will soon be open again. And according some members of the U.S. House, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer needs to be one of the first things flushed after Senate Democrats folded like a cheap lawn chair after 6 weeks of posturing —without President Trump or Congressional Republicans giving Schumer anything close to a win. This is what capitulation looks like, and 'The Left" is coming unglued.
America faced a harsh reality this week. As President Trump said, “We have a choice between communism and common sense.” The rubber has hit the road in New York, Virginia, and New Jersey. It didn’t matter that the attorney general–elect wanted to kill a GOP lawmaker and his family, or that Zohran Mamdani is a communist who openly despises Israel. Just 24 years after 9/11, the people of New York—once a beacon of American perseverance—have elected a mayor who represents everything this country is not.
The Democratic Party has officially handed over its reins to the most radical parts of its base. Amidst Democrats' record-breaking shutdown, they’ve also made a far-left socialist the face of their future. Zohran Mamdani — NYC's newly-elected mayor — has suggested the U.S. abolish its entire prison system and called the NYPD racist and a threat to public safety. His victory is a loss for anyone who values the rule of law, limited government, and the American dream.
52 Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) training grants totaling over $14 million have been awarded to Texas higher education institutions and independent school districts (ISD) to train students for high-demand, good-paying jobs after graduation. These JET grants awarded through TWC will help public junior, state, and technical colleges; school districts; and open-enrollment charter schools buy equipment for career and technical education (CTE) programs that help students across the state go into high-demand industries.
So congratulations, Senate Democrats — you wasted 40+ days of America’s life and accomplished exactly nothing. You didn’t save Obamacare. You didn’t win hearts and minds. You didn’t even hold your caucus together. You just proved that when push comes to shove, your “unity” is a mirage. The government’s about to be back open. The headlines have faded. But the memory of who caused this mess should linger. Next time they promise to “fight for working families,” remember who they made suffer first.
U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and Mike Lee (R-Utah) introduced the Deporting Fraudsters Act, which would make defrauding the United States or unlawfully obtaining public benefits as grounds for inadmissibility and deportability under the Immigration and Nationality Act. In 2023, 48% of households headed by illegal immigrants received food-related welfare benefits. 17% of illegal immigrant households use SNAP.
Governor Greg Abbott today announced Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas (Formosa Plastics) in Jackson County as a qualified project under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. Formosa Plastics will open a new facility to produce C6 (1-Hexene), a feedstock organic compound used at their existing complex in Point Comfort in the production of polyethylene, the most common plastic material. The project will create $150 million in capital investment.

For months, I watched my generation—my classmates, friends, and peers—turn Zohran Mamdani’s campaign into a movement. New York City, long considered the symbol of capitalism and business, has now elected a self-declared socialist as its mayor. But the most remarkable part of Mamdani’s rise isn’t his ideology but how he became the voice of a generation shaped by an education system that forgot to teach us how to think.
Here in Texas, Teachers, Firefighters & State Employees have modern Retirement Plans that include private market investments – things like private equity and real estate – while most of us in Small Businesses are left out. That’s not fair, and it’s not smart economics either. If the Teacher Retirement and the Texas County & District Retirement Systems use these types of investments – and it’s been paying off – it’s time private-sector workers get the same shot.
House Republicans passed a clean continuing resolution (CR) at the end of September to keep the government funded at Biden-era levels, exactly what Democrats have previously supported. But Senate Democrats have since blocked it a total of 14 times, holding our nation hostage to push their far-left agenda. Their $1.5 trillion list of demands include free healthcare for illegal aliens and billions of wasteful spending overseas, all while American families struggle to put food on the table.
Governor Greg Abbott and Secretary of State Jane Nelson announced that Texas has exceeded 3 million registered businesses — a record high that marks a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing economic growth. As of November 2025, Texas has over 3 million registered business entities, which is more than double the number entities registered a decade ago — just over 1.4 million in 2015.
