“I thank Secretary John Scott for his tireless work educating Texas voters on how they can participate in the electoral process, and for safeguarding the integrity of Texas elections. Greg Abbott earlier today, accepting Scott's resignation and announcing his intent to name Nelson as Texas' 115th Secretary of State.
"No one should fear that their religious and speech rights will be trampled in the United States, and today’s oral arguments demonstrated the rightness of 303 Creative’s position under the Constitution,” said Sen. Ted Cruz, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Ranking Member of its Constitution Subcommittee earlier today about the "303 Creative LLC vs. Elenis" court case currently being heard by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Attorney General Paxton has secured a significant victory in the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, with the court striking down the Federal Horseracing Integrity & Safety Act as unconstitutional. This private, unelected and unaccountable to taxpayers entity falls under the purview of the Federal Trade Commission, which the 5th Circuit said is too limited to provide proper oversight.
The Founding Fathers understood human nature and its tendency toward excess – absent controls. And, for the next few weeks Democrats still control Congress. John Adams put it most succinctly: "There are two ways to enslave a nation. One is by sword. The other is by debt." So count on Democrats to threaten government "shutdown" if Republicans don't go along with their threats to spend more money... that we don't have.

Americans no longer need to fear the Grinch to steal Christmas – Biden-Inflation has managed to accomplish that with higher costs and smaller paychecks during the Holiday Season. Consumers are cutting back on holiday gift buying amid escalating inflation, shoppers are making fewer purchases, and they are doing so at a discount to try and combat higher prices this holiday season, several studies show.
Texas Congressmen August Pfluger and Henry Cuellar have introduced a piece of bi-partisan legislation called the "LNG for Allies Act" to expedite the licensing process for exports of U.S. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to strategic partners and allied countries. The bill also specifies that applications for expedited LNG exports to nations known to be a State Sponsors of Terrorism will be denied.
HB 159 reinstates the requirement on local taxing entities that proposed Property Tax Rates changes must be published in local newspapers. The Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023.
Losing control of the people’s House last month was bad enough. Now Democrats have this “Twitter thing” to deal with – which is no longer within their authoritarian control to manipulate. They don’t have that free hand to tip the scales in their favor any longer, and with the new control of Congress in GOP hands they also know the days of keeping their secrets from the American Public are numbered... And they are terrified.
"This incredible, groundbreaking new therapy has the potential to revolutionize how we combat fentanyl deaths and end the afflictions of addiction that burdens so many innocent Texans & Americans across the country," said Gov. Greg Abbott, celebrating the tremendous achievement of University of Houston researchers who have developed a groundbreaking fentanyl vaccine with the potential to save millions of lives from overdose poisonings and addiction.
“After doing next to nothing to avoid a railway strike, the president assured the American people this matter was settled. That was a brazen lie. Now, he expects Congress to step into the dispute and pick winners and losers. As a matter of principle, I don't support government intervention to decide terms of employment," said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, as the U.S. Senate took up legislation to avoid an economic catastrophe and railroad strike.

"This is all put at risk by the attacks by President Biden to kill the industry."
When you hear that something is refundable, you probably think that means that someone gets a refund on something he or she paid. By “refundable,” they (IRS) mean that someone gets a payment even if he or she paid nothing in the first place.
“It's embarrassing that unelected bureaucrats in Florida have done a better job of protecting children than elected officials in Texas have by regulatorily banning gender modification. I’ve filed a bill to codify the same ban that exists in Florida, however, our children deserve protection today – and the Texas Medical Board can provide it," said State Rep. Brian Harrison, who prior being elected to the Texas House served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services.

Brian Babin (TX-36,) after voting no on both H.J. Res. 100 and H. Con. Res. 119. "The president, who deems himself the ‘union guy,’ should have been able to solve this issue long ago."
