The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) has endorsed Representative Tony Gonzales for Congress. NBPC represents 16,000 Border Patrol Agents and other border security personnel. Gonzales is the first candidate for the 2022 elections to be endorsed by NBPC.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.39 billion in July, 13.5 percent more than in July 2020. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July.

Last month we saw the Texas economy growing in industries and in areas all across the state with the latest labor market tracking a 6.5% unemployment rate, and 55,800 jobs added over June. End of July, heading into August, and aren't we glad we get to live in Texas!

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced yesterday that he has established the Senate Select Committee on the Future of College Sports in Texas, to be chaired by Sen. Jane Nelson, R-Flower Mound, to study the athletic and economic impact to Texas schools and communities by the University of Texas leaving the Big 12.

​​​​​​​"By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, I hereby order that the Texas National Guard assist DPS in enforcing Texas law by arresting lawbreakers at the border," said Gov. Greg Abbott, instructing the Texas National Guard to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) with arresting individuals for state charges related to the border crisis.

"We cannot leave behind the Afghan people who served and fought alongside us – all while knowing the great risk it would put them in,” said South Texas Cong. Tony Gonzales, who is working to expedite the Special Immigrant Visa process for Afghans, as the U.S. withdraws its troops from Afghanistan.
