After the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday that the nation's Gross Domestic Product showed a negative -1.4% Growth Rate in the 1st Quarter of 2022,  the Ranking Member of the House Ways & Means Committee, Cong. Kevin Brady of Houston said, “This devastating report is a clear signal of America heading toward recession. Under President Biden’s leadership, our economy is now shrinking."

The states contend that the termination of the Title 42 orders will result in increased costs and burdens, including increased healthcare costs. Any standard documentation that certifies an individual’s COVID-19 vaccination status constitutes a 'vaccine passport'.”

“By rescinding our Medicaid waiver, the Biden Administration needlessly threatened the healthcare of many vulnerable Texans. Texas knows its own healthcare needs better than the federal government, and this puts those needs first,” said Cruz after Biden restored the state's 10-year waiver that - if not allowed - could have jeopardized the coverage of 2-out-of-5 Texas children who rely on Medicaid.

The Texas Workforce Commission's Jobs & Education for Texans (JET) Program supports Texas' employers by preparing students for careers in occupations identified as being in high demand. And now approximately $50 million has been allocated to help eligible institutions that apply for grant funding to defray the start-up costs of developing Career & Technical Education Programs.
