The Texas House crossed another major deadline at midnight Wednesday morning, shutting down the ability for any more Senate Bills to be considered on the House Floor. This 2021 Session's already brought several policy victories for Texas Republicans, and more are expected to be delivered to Gov. Abbott's desk in these last few days of session. Here's how to track the progress.

"Because of the border crisis precipitated by current federal policies, we maintained support for enhanced Border Security and provided pay increases for our brave Dept. of Public Safety Troopers & other Law Enforcement."

Texas offers three tax-advantaged 529 plans: the Texas College Savings Plan® (TCSP) and the LoneStar 529 Plan® (LS529), both college savings plans, and the Texas Tuition Promise Fund® (TTPF), a prepaid tuition plan. The plans are known as 529 plans because they are authorized by Internal Revenue Code Section 529.
Gov. Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Health & Human Services Commission has received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a second round of federal P-EBT food benefits for families with children who have lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to COVID-19. The application will be open from June 2 to August 13, and are processed when received.
“This overwhelming vote in the Texas Senate – which includes more than 10 Senate Democrat votes to ban camping statewide – sends a strong message to Mayor Steve Adler, Council Member Greg Casar and the rest of city hall that their efforts to allow unregulated public camping anywhere and regulated camping in city parks is extreme and will not be allowed in Texas.
“The decrease in the unemployment rate in Texas shows continued strength of our economy,” said Texas Workforce Commission Chairman Bryan Daniel, announcing that Texas' seasonally adjusted 6.7% unemployment rate in April was down 0.2% from March 2021.

Congressional backers of the "Endless Frontiers Act" are optimistic a final bill could pass the Senate before June, representing the culmination of a two-month effort by a handful of Senate Committees to draw up bi-partisan legislation aimed at out-competing China. Texas' Senator, Ted Cruz, applauded the committee’s vote for the following reasons.

Tony Gonzales from Texas's 23rd District, highlighted the humanitarian crisis and influx of unaccompanied minors at the Southern Border on the House floor on Wednesday.
“There's a groundswell of pro-life activity happening in State Legislatures across the nation, as lawmakers challenge the extreme status quo permitted by Roe vs. Wade – which now often includes abortion on-demand up until the moment of birth," said the Susan B. Anthony List's Policy Director, Sue Liebel, as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed the "Heartbeat Bill" into law.
