Since the launch of Operation Lone Star, the multi-agency effort has led to over 497,600 Illegal Immigrant Apprehensions, more than 39,000 Criminal Arrests – with more than 35,200 Felony Charges. In the fight against the fentanyl crisis, Texas Law Enforcement has seized over 458 million lethal doses of fentanyl during this Border Mission, as Operation Lone Star continues to fill the dangerous gaps created by Joe Biden's refusal to secure the border.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.02 billion in January, 2 percent less than in January 2023. Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in January 2024 was up 1.6 percent compared with the same period a year ago. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 57 percent of all tax collections.

As Iranian-backed militias have now attacked American installations and forces in Syria, Iraq &Jordan more than 170 times, Joe Biden has forgotten the ancient wisdom that preparing loudly only for peace guarantees war. To prevent war, Mr. Biden should return to oil sanctions on Iran, embargo its banking transactions, slap a travel ban on Iran and its allies, and restore the terrorist designation for the Houthis. The Texas delegation met with company executives, business leaders, and government officials to promote Texas’ mighty economy; encourage continued trade, job creation, and capital investment by Indian companies in Texas.

On his first day in office, President Biden rescinded border policies that were effectively working — like Remain in Mexico — and keeping our country safe. Last weekend, I joined Chairman Michael McCaul, Rep. Henry Cuellar, Rep. Tony Gonzales, and Rep. Monica De La Cruz in McAllen, Texas at the state's Southern Border.  We then traveled to Mexico City to meet with government leaders in Mexico to discussed strategies to address migration and increase trade between our two nations. Moving forward, we cannot continue playing defense on the 1-yard line called the U.S.-Mexico border.
