After Texas lost nearly 1,700 citizens to fentanyl-related deaths in 2021 alone – and as deadly drugs like fentanyl increasingly pour across Joe Biden’s open Southern Border – Gov. Greg Abbott announced a new round of state responses to combat drug overdoses during an Overdose Awareness Day Event where he met with a group of parents, spouses, siblings, children and friends affected by the growing epidemic of opioid overdose deaths.

Available through the "Operation Stonegarden" Grant Program – a grant program of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security geared towards enhancing border security – the funding announcement comes during the same week the hard-charging, South Texas Border Congresswoman held a Law Enforcement Roundtable with several law enforcement jurisdictions and U.S. Custom & Border Protection Officials.

The Texas Veterans Land Board has recognized the Navajo Marines who transmitted messages in their native language during WWII to confuse Japanese codebreakers. From 1942 to 1945 every single “island-hopping” battle involved Navajo Code Talkers, and Japanese Intelligence never broke their code. The language is incredibly complex, has no alphabet – and were it not for the Navajos the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima.

“No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.” That’s what it says right there in the Constitution – yet without legislation signed into law President Biden now promises to “forgive” up to $10,000 or $20,000 in Student Loans. Not so very long ago, Biden himself admitted he didn't have the authority to "cancel" those loans "by signing with a pen." ​​​​​​​There is no norm Democrats aren’t willing to destroy for political power.

It's estimated that one of The Left's latest tactics – called Environmental, Social & Governance, or ESG – has taken 90% of the potential investments for reliable oil and gas produced energy off the table over the last five years. In response, Texas Railroad Commission Chairman Wayne Christian passed an Anti-ESG Resolution at the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission, and championed passage of Texas’ new laws to fight ESG's use last session.

"Because your administration has very little [time] remaining, you refuse to deliberate or halt this ‘discretionary’ action despite the adverse impacts on Americans. If those impacts are irrelevant to your administration, be honest and tell us," said Gov. Abbott, responding to the Biden White House's proposed "discretionary redesignation" of the Permian Basin by the EPA – possibly jeopardizing a quarter of the nation’s gas supply, and sending prices at the pump skyrocketing.

​​​​​​​"This list represents our initial effort to shine a light on the entities that are engaging in these practices, and create some clarity for Texans whose tax dollars may be working to directly undermine our state’s economic health,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, announcing his first list of 10 Financial Companies and nearly 350 Individual Investment Funds that use their financial clout to push a Social & Political Agenda shrouded in secrecy.

Democrats, once the home of the Middle-America Working-Class – and, they said, the downtrodden – have obviously never been more over-the-top confident about who and what their voting base is: affluent, elite, predominantly white and predominantly urban-suburban college-educated graduates. It's a gut punch to every hard working single mother who worked double shifts to pay for her education, to every parent who borrowed against their home to send their kids to college, and to every American who sacrificed to make responsible decisions or Veterans who risked their lives to earn the G.I. Bill," said Cruz.

The next time Republicans control all three branches of government they may wish to visit an old idea - the flat tax. When magazine publisher and Republican Steve Forbes ran for president in 1996, the flat tax was at the heart of his campaign.

In what were called "explosive comments" last summer, House Speaker Pelosi told reporters President Biden did not have the authority to cancel student loan debt. "He can postpone [payments] ... but he does not have that power [of debt forgiveness]," said Pelosi. So, why today is the kid from an upper-middle class family whose parents make up to $125,000 a year – or $250,000 for married couples – deserve debt relief when working-class families who couldn’t afford college and didn't go get nothing?

Beyond the legal problems, the Proposed Rule worryingly ignores the interests of everyday Americans," wrote Texas' Attorney General Ken Paxton and 20 other states, saying they believe this represents another thinly-veiled attempt by the Biden White House to target the energy and other industries vital to the American people.

Governor Abbott led a Statewide Weather Call earlier today with more than 350 Local Emergency Response Officials from all regions across Texas – including mayors, county judges, 1st responders & private sector partners – saying, "The State of Texas is using all means necessary to support local community efforts to protect life and property, and it’s essential that communities across the state take proactive measures."
