A number of people who are against high taxes believe – at the same time – in substantial tariffs on goods from other countries. Here’s the problem: a tariff is a tax, a tax on imports. Americans and producers in that country share the burden of the tax. But is there some good news here? There is.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, Republican Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, recently attacked his opponent – the utterly ridiculous Lt. Gov. John Fetterman – for a pro-criminal record that would embarrass even George Soros. Specifically, he criticized Fetterman for employing as campaign aides Dennis & Lee Horton, who spent 27 years in prison for a horrific armed robbery murder. If I understand it correctly, the media's theory of the crime is as follows.

Currently Mr. Biden is more than 20% underwater on "the Economy" – with a 58.6% "Disapproval Rating" according to RealClearPolitics – which is worse than his overall 10% "job approval-disapproval" deficit. And with August's inflation rate near its recent 40-year high in June, wages continue to fall, Americans are paying more for everything from groceries to gas, and inflation's showing no signs of slowing down.

Texans are feeling the impacts of higher interest rates and inflation, yet as we worry about prices at the grocery store or at the gas pump, some lawmakers in Washington, D.C. are more focused on taking down America’s most successful technology companies than they are on offering solutions to mitigate the impacts of economic turmoil on consumers and small business owners.

It isn't complicated why crime has, and is substantially increasing across America. After the first two buses of illegal immigrants arrived in the "Sanctuary City" of Chicago from Texas last week – as part of Gov. Greg Abbott's effort to relieve South Texas' cities from the Biden Border Crisis – Chicago's Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city would welcome and assist them in finding shelter, work and schooling. Now, it turns out, Mayor Lightfoot is promptly busing some of those very same immigrants to the Chicago suburbs.
