Millions of Americans might shrug and say, "If Joe Biden, President of the United States, and his criminally minded son can get away with avoiding millions of dollars in taxes, why shouldn't I at least have the right to avoid hundreds of dollars in taxes?" The Bidens, along with Attorney General Merrick Garland, are imperiling a hallowed American tradition – self-reported income tax computation and voluntary compliance.
Contrary to what most Americans assume, affirmative action has never helped poor kids. In fact Harvard favors wealthy kids – only 3% of the Student Body there comes from low-income families. A staggering 67% come from families in the top fifth of the nation's earners. Nearly 75% of Harvard's Black & Hispanic Students come from high-earning families. The real opportunity gap is between rich and poor.
"I hold out enduring hope that this country will live up to its principles so clearly enunciated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States: that all men are created equal, are equal citizens, and must be treated equally before the law," said Justice Clarence Thomas. The last trace of genuine, government-legitimized "systemic racism" in America is no more. Good riddance.
After Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was recently censured by the Republican House for promoting the Russia collusion fiction in the 2020 election, Democrats chanted "shame, shame, shame." It's nice to know they have some standards besides the double standards they usually display.
On June 8th former president Trump's lead over top challenger Gov. Ron DeSantis was 30.3% in the RealClearPolitics average of National Polls. Today Trump's lead over DeSantis is 30.6%. A federal indictment, on top of a local prosecutor's indictment in New York City, seems not to have affected Trump's national poll numbers at all.
In the rush to “own the libs,” many people are making whatever issues they claim they’re trying to address much worse than they otherwise would be. Proving, once again, how the biggest obstacle conservatives face is their own inability to not step on rakes.
When one of Donald Trump's rivals for the 2024 GOP nomination (Chris Christie) criticized him, he was loudly booed. When North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson endorsed him, the crowd rose to its feet in support. Americans understand President Trump's been targeted from the beginning – and Americans remember he achieved energy independence, a secure border, and a strong economy. Under Joe Biden, the world's in chaos.
When the Texas House of Representatives cast an overwhelming 121-23 vote to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, we fully understood the gravity of his flagrant abuses of office – and of the public's trust. House members fulfilled our constitutional responsibility & adhered to our oaths of office. Now the Texas Senate has the opportunity to exercise theirs.
Clinton, it should be remembered, held tens of thousands of emails on a private server, dozens of which were classified; James Comey, then head of the FBI, admitted that there was a good shot that foreign sources could have accessed that server; the emails themselves were then destroyed by Clinton's team, and her hard drive cleansed; nonetheless, months later, copies of those emails showed up on the laptop of moral derelict Anthony Weiner.
Walt Nauta is a 10-year veteran of the Navy and served as an aide to former President Donald Trump both in and out of office. . . Special Counsel Jack Smith has now indicted him for allegedly "making false statements in interviews with the FBI." The indictment's subtext is that Nauta refused to cooperate with and turn the state's evidence to the special counsel in its efforts to convict Trump.
Is this even America? The law being challenged is exactly what you'd find in George Orwell's "1984" – a novel depicting socialist despotism. The government dictates the price for your product, but calls it a "negotiation." If you refuse, your business is taxed to death overnight and you are gagged from disclosing what is happening, and forced to declare the price "fair."
With mounting evidence now having been revealed to Members of Congress, a growing number of legislators say there's enough reason to initiate impeachment hearings against President Joe Biden. And Cong. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she's “dumbfounded” that more Republicans aren't joining her in supporting Biden’s impeachment. In fact, a Special Counsel even been named to investigate.
While it's true that the Texas Legislature put forth a TikTok ban on state-owned devises, they refused to ban the controversial social media app outright. Scores of small businesses in Texas rely on TikTok for their marketing, including Tevin Hamilton, the owner of Hamilton’s Woodworks. Tevin is an African-American Veteran who says, “TikTok has been a blessing to market and grow my business.”
If we complacently allow the fascist left to take down Trump, it will become far easier to take down others, having set a precedent. It’s just a matter of time before they turn their sights on prosecuting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis; if he gets the nomination, they’ll proceed with a criminal fishing expedition against him.
First-term Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin scored a substantial and vital victory in Virginia on Wednesday, as the state's Air Pollution Board voted 4-3 to remove Virginia from the controversial Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) after participation in RGGI led to higher utility bills for residences and businesses there. Youngkin had often equated RGGI to a "carbon tax" on consumers.
Well, yet another week of the Texas Legislature's "Special Session #1" has gone by, and we seem to once again be in a dilemma regarding Property Tax Relief. Its relief that Texas taxpayers have been promised, and that they want and demand. After all, we can’t go on much longer allowing Grandma to be required to rent her paid off home from the Government – especially in these times of inflation and liberal policies.
Nearly 160,000 American, British, and Canadian soldiers stormed five beaches of Nazi-occupied France. The plan was to liberate western Europe after four years of occupation, push into Germany, and end the Nazi regime. . . Less than a year later, the Allies from the West, and the Soviet Russians from the East, did just that, utterly destroying Hitler's Third Reich.
This crony bill recently received a congressional committee's approval – but not before Sen. Rand Paul voiced his objection due to small businesses’ opposition to it. In a separate hearing months earlier, Sen. Ted Cruz echoed Sen. Paul’s concerns, saying the FTC "previously conducted robust economic analysis of PBMs, and found that PBMs benefit consumers by lowering drug prices.”
We are embarking on something nearly unheard of: For just the 3rd time in the storied history of our state under its current constitution, the Texas House of Representatives has impeached a State Officer. When the House cast an overwhelming vote to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, we fully understood the gravity. In fact, Mr. Paxton must be held accountable for his flagrant abuses of office – and of the public's trust.
When the new Chairman and CEO, Chris Licht, got the job, it was made abundantly clear that he was not going to take that path, that he was going to fudge around the edges. That was never going to work because the problems of CNN are fundamental, not cosmetic. It needs to be destroyed and remade, or it will die a slow, painful death.
