HAMMER: Here's Just a Few Lessons to be Learned from Biden's Student Loan 'Forgiveness'

Democrats, once the home of the Middle-America Working-Class – and, they said, the downtrodden – have obviously never been more over-the-top confident about who and what their voting base is: affluent, elite, predominantly white and predominantly urban-suburban college-educated graduates. There's simply no other way to explain Joe Biden's latest cynical, 70-odd-days out from a disastrous Mid-Term Election policy.

ABBOTT: Harris County May be Subject to Penalties After Unilaterally Defunding Law Enforcement

"The dangerous actions taken by Judge Lina Hidalgo and Harris County represent a brazen disregard for the safety and security of the Texans they are sworn to protect. The State of Texas will ensure our brave law enforcement partners have the resources necessary for this solemn responsibility," said Gov. Greg Abbott following Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar's finding that Harris County Commissioners acted to significantly reduce resources available to the County's Constables Office.

Paxton Secures Victory vs. Biden White House, Stops Texas Healthcare Providers from Forced Performance of Abortions

"We’re not going to allow left-wing bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. to transform our Texas Hospitals & Emergency Rooms into walk-in abortion clinics, and the decision last night proves what we knew all along: the law is on our side. No matter how many backdoors Joe Biden attempts to go through to illegally force abortions in Texas, I will fight back to defend our pro-life laws – and Texas mothers and children,” said Attorney General Paxton after a Federal Judge ruled in Texas' favor.

CRUZ: Biden’s Illegal Student Loan Forgiveness is a 'Morally Bankrupt' Gut-Punch

"This burdens hard-working Americans with debts they didn’t take on themselves. This will cost every American taxpayer an average of $2,100. It's a gut punch to every hard working single mother who worked double shifts to pay for her education, to every parent who borrowed against their home to send their kids to college, and to every American who sacrificed to make responsible decisions or Veterans who risked their lives to earn the G.I. Bill," said Cruz.

Revisiting the Flat Tax

The next time Republicans control all three branches of government they may wish to visit an old idea - the flat tax. When magazine publisher and Republican Steve Forbes ran for president in 1996, the flat tax was at the heart of his campaign.

BAUER: Nancy Pelosi Said Last Summer, Joe Biden 'Does Not Have That Power' of Student Debt 'Forgiveness'

In what were called "explosive comments" last summer, House Speaker Pelosi told reporters President Biden did not have the authority to cancel student loan debt. "He can postpone [payments] ... but he does not have that power [of debt forgiveness]," said Pelosi. So, why today is the kid from an upper-middle class family whose parents make up to $125,000 a year – or $250,000 for married couples – deserve debt relief when working-class families who couldn’t afford college and didn't go get nothing?

Paxton Joins Fight Against Biden Idea as Unconstitutional, Left-Wing Political Agenda

“The Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) has become more and more aggressive in implementing a political agenda, untethered from its statutory mission. Beyond the legal problems, the Proposed Rule worryingly ignores the interests of everyday Americans," wrote Texas' Attorney General Ken Paxton and 20 other states, saying they believe this represents another thinly-veiled attempt by the Biden White House to target the energy and other industries vital to the American people.

PFLUGER: A One Year Milestone Marks Biden’s Chaotic Afghanistan Withdrawal

This week marks a terrible milestone: The shameful and botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that allowed the Taliban to reassert control over the country for the first time in 20 years, killed 13 U.S. service members and at least 170 Afghans in an ISIS orchestrated terrorist attack, damaged relationships with our allies, and made our own country less safe. The legacy media is working hard to sweep its impacts under the rug.

MOORE: Has Modern Environmentalism Become a Pagan Religion?

The great Rush Limbaugh used to say, "The modern environmentalists worship the created, not the creator." As only 1-in-20 people say "Climate Change" is the No. 1 problem facing our country, last week Joe Biden signed the fiscally unconscionable $750 billion tax-&-spend "Inflation Reduction Act" and gave another $369 billion to the climate change-industrial complex. As Americans want and desperately need lower inflation and more prosperity, this law delivers neither.

Republicans Expand Lead in Congressional Poll to 5%, as FBI Raid Is Unfavorable to Independents

With Mid-Term Elections less than 80 days away, Republicans continue to hold their year-long lead over Democrats and now have a 5% advantage in their bid to recapture Congress – and the GOP's lead in Rasmussen's "Generic Congressional Ballot" poll is now 2% higher than is was last week when they led 46%-43%. Republican's lead is due mainly to a 9% advantage among Independent Voters – and the FBI's damaged standing with Independent Voters.

BETTENCOURT: Inflation's Up, But Homestead ISD Tax Bills Are Not! Over 3.5 Million Should See Savings This Fall

Property Appraisals are rising amidst a booming Texas economy, but taxpayers can be assured their Property Tax Rates are on the way down to offset the increases. "The Cavalry's coming over the hill for Texas Homesteads this fall. After passage of Props 1 & 2 last May, 3.5 million homesteads will this year pay less on average in school taxes than last year. Over-65 homeowners are frozen this year, but will get an actual property tax cut in 2023," said State Sen. Paul Bettencourt.

Cong. Pfluger: Our Nation's Southern Border Peril in Perspective

200,000 illegal immigrants were encountered at the Southern Border last month – a 325% increase from the average July number under President Trump. This brings the total number of illegal crossings since President Biden took office to over 4.2 million – including 800,000 illegal immigrants. To put that in perspective, that's the size of more than 13% of the population of Texas. Here's the latest figures in perspective.

Federalist Editor Rips Apart Mitch McConnell's Remarks About the GOP Having Bad Senate Candidates

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) gave Democrats a boost recently. Whether it was intentional or not is irrelevant at this point—when the Senate Republican leader says that his party virtually has no chance of retaking the 50-50 Senate, people take notice.
