Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is highlighting the impact of supply chains on the Texas economy as he restarts his Good for Texas Tour.
Only a little more than half of the current world's 7 billion people are citizens of fully consensual governments. That lucky 50 percent alone enjoys constitutionally protected freedoms. Most are also Western. Or at least they reside in nations that have become "Westernized."
It’s not at all evident right now what "consensus" might look like when it comes to the Democrat Party's current D.C. melt-down between its liberal & radical left factions. But given the rhetoric on "The Hill" these days, we may soon find out that the Democrat's typically more disciplined and team-oriented players have just been slower to break down than expected.
"The State of Texas has made tremendous progress in upholding the integrity of our elections. By increasing penalties for illegal voting, we will send an even clearer message that voter fraud will not be tolerated in Texas," said Gov. Abbott, submitting a message to the Secretary of the Senate identifying legislation to increase penalties for illegal voting as an additional agenda item for the Special Session that began on Monday, September 20th.
"President Biden and his administration must stop ignoring what’s happening at our border and address this crisis,” said Oklahoma Cong. Stephanie Bice, visiting the South Texas Boarder City of Del Rio as part of a tour organized by Texas Cong. Tony Gonzales who represents the city in Congress. They met with Del Rio Sector Border Patrol, toured the now well-known International Bridge there, and held a roundtable with the Texas Department of Public Service and the National Guard.
"Among more specialized retailers, the fastest growth in receipts was from clothing stores, electronics and appliance stores, as has been the case in recent months," said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, announcing that State Sales Tax Revenue in September totaled $3.15 billion, a 22.3% increase over September 2020.
Former State Representative Aaron Peña has filed paperwork to begin his candidacy to be a Justice on the 13th Court of Appeals. "My background in the community, in the courtroom, as a former legislator, and on the legal teams of two Texas state agencies gives me the necessary insight & understanding to serve on the Court of Appeals,” said the Edinburg native.
I'm one of the few white conservatives in America who grew up in a majority-black urban city and attended an all-black middle school and all-black high school. So, I grew up with an understanding and appreciation of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and his extraordinary ideas and strategies – in particular, civil disobedience.
Oh Boy – there's more bad news for Democrat turnout & President Joe Biden. By 60%–27% a new YouGov National Poll says "Registered Voters" feel the country is on the wrong track. And there's no issue on which Biden is above water. Among Black Americans – with whom Democrats need to roll up lopsided margins – Biden’s "Job Approval Rating" is only 58% approve, 25% disapprove, with 23% "strongly approving."
“Many (of the illegal) Haitian migrants camped in a small Texas border town are being released in the United States, two U.S. Officials said, undercutting the Biden Administration’s public statements that the 1,000s in the well-known camp faced expulsion,” reported the Associated Press. “Many have been released with notices to appear at an immigration office within 60 days, which requires less processing time from Border Patrol agents,” said the AP.
In separate surveys of 1,000 "Likely U.S. Voters" last week, here's what Americas told Rasmussen Reports about President Biden's handling of the Immigration Issue, who they blame for the Border Crisis, and how strongly they're against the Democrat's Spending, Taxing & Reconciliation Bill – none of it, spoiler alert, is good news for Joe Biden's presidency. They also said – by substantial majorities – they'd vote for Donald Trump over either Biden or Kamala Harris.
“I find it very hypocritical at this moment that our president went on national television, and as a priority mandated vaccines, COVID vaccines specifically, for our Border Patrol Agents – and mind you if they’re not fully vaccinated by around the end of November, they face termination – those're the same Border Patrol Agents that’re out here tonight, and that’ve been here holding the line tirelessly since this entire crisis has begun, they're same agents that're facing possible termination if they’re not fully vaccinated under President Biden’s mandates."
Saying that the Biden Administration is destroying the country's National Security – and misleading Congress – Rodney Scott's stunningly blunt warning to key U.S. Senators says that President Biden "is laser-focused on expediting the flow of migrants into the U.S., and downplaying the significant vulnerability this creates for terrorists, narcotics smugglers, human traffickers, and even hostile nations to gain access to our homeland."
"These two additional agenda items are crucial to improving the quality of life for all Texans," said Governor Greg Abbott earlier today, submitting a message to the Secretary of the Senate that identified two additional agenda items for the 3rd Special Session of the Texas Legislature that began Monday, September 20th.
“This is a National Security Issue, and a Humanitarian Crisis that is visible on an international scale,” said Cong. Tony Gonzales – whose 23rd Congressional District of Texas actually includes the South Texas City of Del Rio. "I urge you to take immediate action to approve Gov. Abbott’s request for an 'Emergency Disaster Declaration' to prevent the growing Border Crisis from spiraling further out of control."
Affirming that the anti-Semitic, radical left is in full control of their party, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. House Democrats today stripped $1 billion from Israel’s "Iron Dome" defense system, a crucial anti-missile defense technology that’s saved countless innocent lives from attacks by Islamic terrorists.
“Service industries are crucial to our state’s economy,” said TWC Commissioner Aaron Demerson, who occupies the TWC Board position representing employers. “Assisting Texans with getting back to work helps our Texas employers bounce back, which means a stronger recovery for all of Texas.”
There’s something satisfying about seeing Democrat Liberals in a Slap Fight with each other – you just want to grab up a bowl of popcorn, pop some brews and egg them on. We’ll see more and more battles between the unsatiated elements of the Democrat coalition, and as conservatives, we just need stay out of it. Let them pummel each other. Let them rip each other apart. Let them fight!
