Attorney General Paxton sued the IRS to stop an Enforcement Announcement issued by the agency that would have severely limited the ability of child support enforcement agencies to utilize contractor support services. Specifically, after facilitating child support programs’ use of contracted services for over a decade, the IRS unlawfully, arbitrarily, and with no notice, reversed its position and demanded that child support programs terminate contractor access to data necessary for program administration.
A former soap opera actor recently was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles. He interrupted thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car. In response, a Democrat L.A. City Council member -- there are no Republicans -- blamed the automaker for failing to make the catalytic converters harder to steal. Councilwoman Nithya Raman said: "In this case, one of the things that infuriates me is that we have a company -- whatever, Toyota -- who makes the Prius, that essentially has a device on their cars which is super easy to remove."
Pending a final decision on disqualifying Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a one-page Georgia Appellate Court order today will halt the controversial trial against former President Donald Trump until it is determined whether Willis should have been disqualified from the case or not. Wednesday’s ruling means the case cannot even proceed in the interim, and comes after questions of financial conflict of interest were raised as Willis and the man she later named to lead the investigation, Nathan Wade, admitted to having had a lengthy sexual affair.
Provisions in the law championed by Sen. Cruz will make possible test corridors for hypersonic and supersonic aircraft, and position Texas as a leading contender for a corridor. The law, which Sen. Cruz authored as the ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, received overwhelming bipartisan support in both chambers and makes historic investments in the safety, efficiency, and innovation of America’s aviation system.
Our "weaponized justice system" was on full display in New York City last week – against former President Donald Trump. A Soros-backed D.A., a Biden-supporting judge who led the jury to a foregone conclusion have now let the genie out of the bottle for all of America to see. But, compared to three short years ago Americans are spending over $12,800 more annually to buy the basics because of "Bidenflation" and "Bidenomics." I believe this was a rigged & despicable miscarriage of justice – and that the nation's voters will settle things on November 5th.
“I will continue to defend the laws enacted by the Legislature, and to uphold the values of the people of Texas by doing everything in my power to protect mothers and babies,” said Texas Attorney General Paxton, after he successfully defended one of the Texas Legislature's recently passed pro-life laws and secured a unanimous decision from the Supreme Court of Texas to uphold the "Human Life Protection Act."
“The Texas Workforce Commission is expanding its resources to provide training to Texans that aligns with the needs of our employers,” said TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel. The launch of the program highlights one of Texas’ many investments to ensure a workforce to fill current and emerging job openings. Resources offered through the Lone Star Workforce of the Future will also foster new workforce skills to meet the evolving needs of employers in the state’s growing economy. The program was created by the 88th Texas Legislature, then signed into law by Gov. Greg Abbott.
One day, when unbiased, non-woke, not-in-the-tank-for-the-Democrats historians appear again in our nation, they'll draw apt comparisons between former President Donald J. Trump – before, during, and after the sham show-trial forced upon him by the Democrat machine seeking to keep him off the ballot – and the likes of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and John Hancock. While some may find that a stretch, it is not.
“Under Biden, things are the worst they've ever been – by far,” said one agent based in Arizona. “Agents are calling in all the time. You always hear ‘It doesn’t matter,’ or ‘What’s the point?’ in reference to doing our job. Agents are afraid of ending up on the news for doing their job – or getting in trouble for doing their job. There is no morale.” And the Agents blame Biden. With over 4,000 Federal Border Patrol Agents gone since October 2020, the early retirement rate is twice what it was under either the Obama or Trump Administrations.
Approximately 90% of the world’s most advanced semiconductors – which power electronics, automobiles & U.S. weapons systems – are made in Taiwan. Taiwan is one of our most important and strategic partners. If China invades Taiwan, this could lead to an “electronic shutdown.” China, Russia & Iran are all looking to exploit our weaknesses. The United States must be a symbol of strength and democracy – but instead the world has been watching as our judicial system is being abused for political gain.
"About 300 soldiers are moving in today, and more will arrive soon. Texas will not stop until we gain full operational control of the border," said Gov. Greg Abbott, touring Texas’ new Forward Operating Base and welcoming the first 300 Texas National Guard soldiers moving into the base camp in Eagle Pass. Following the tour, the Abbott outlined how the new camp will help soldiers deployed on Operation Lone Star more effectively respond to President Joe Biden’s continued and tragic Border Crisis.
"Since Winter Storm Uri in 2021, I have been abundantly clear that we must bring new dispatchable generation (primarily new natural gas plants) to Texas to ensure we maintain reliable power under any circumstance. Improving our grid is essential for the Texas Miracle to continue throughout the 21st century. Texas’ economy is the 8th largest in the world, larger than most countries, and we must have reliable generation to meet ever-increasing demand."
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) in three additional counties impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on April 26. The amended Presidential Disaster Declaration now includes Bell, Calhoun, Collin, Cooke, Denton, Eastland, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Henderson, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Liberty, Montague, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, and Waller Counties.
The regime media’s spasms over the NYC Kangaroo Kourt Konviction – and the free media’s backlash against it – reaffirms the new information reality. Conservatives must understand this is not the same media environment most of us Republicans grew up in. There aren’t just three networks, AND there aren’t just a couple basic cable news channels. A powerful, pro-active conservative media strategy is a necessity. The regime media must be not just neutralized, but actively defeated. This is them and us walking in – and only one of us walking out.
"Amongst those who are open to changing their mind, people feel more positive by a margin of 6%. That's outside the margin of the error, and we're saying that's significant," said J.L. Partners James Johnson, who conducted the poll and added, "In particular, it extends to Independent Voters. Look at the explanations and it's clear why: people feel it was a politically motivated trial, and they view Trump as a 'fighter' – against what they see as injustice." Could a conviction help Donald Trump win over the voters who matter?
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, visited Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Tuesday to discuss the impact of the wins he secured for Texas in the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. On the ground in Texas, Sen. Cruz also highlighted his new legislation, the IVF Protection Act.
Beginning next year, school districts will receive additional state funding if they choose to buy SBOE-approved materials. If OER is approved by SBOE, and districts opt to use the OER materials, a second stream of additional funding will be made available to defray printing costs. The OER will be available online for free to everyone, allowing parents and families to access quality educational materials aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for their children.
Ms. Henderson grew up in a family with several members serving in the Navy, including her brother, who joined the Navy two weeks after Pearl Harbor was bombed. This, along with an inspiring poster of the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) launching a weather balloon, influenced Ms. Henderson to join the Navy in April of 1945. She was one of the first women to hold a critical position and was stationed at Treasure Island Naval Base in northern California.
