"It is beneath contempt for a President to threaten a worker’s ability to feed their family in order to achieve compliance with his mandates,” said Attorney General Paxton. Despite knowing the federal government lacked the authority to take such drastic measures, Joe Biden ignored the constitutional limits of his power, and worked to coerce over 80 million American workers into taking COVID-19 vaccines with unlawful mandates.
Each year, the nation sets aside time for of "National Police Week" to show special appreciation for Law Enforcement Personnel at all levels of government. We pay tribute to the brave men and women devoted to keeping our communities and families safe, and we remember the sacrifice of the heroes who have given all in the line of duty. We stand with Law Enforcement Officers and oppose efforts to "defund the police."
Street takeovers have recently become common occurrences in Texas. Houston arrests have been made almost weekly in 2023 for street and parking lot takeovers. In 2022, the Harris County D.A. handled 1,000 street racing cases. More recently, on February 18th Austin suffered seven street takeover events in one night. "Our message is clear: If you participate in these criminal acts, we’re going to throw the full weight of the law at you."
The U.S. Dept. of Justice & FBI "failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law." Instead, a hoax was perpetuated on the American People – by the highest levels of our Federal Government – despite the fact that "neither the U.S. nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion" to investigate allegations that Donald Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with Russia.
"In the two years that President Biden has been in office, there've been over 5 million encounters at the Southern Border, and at least 1.4 million gotaways. That totals nearly 6.5 million people. To put it in perspective… that’s bigger than the population sizes of thirty-three U.S. states. Republicans will not ignore this crisis. We will restore the security of our border," says West Texas Cong. August Pfluger.
“There is a full-on invasion unfolding... the worst illegal immigration in history – 6.5 million people crossing illegally," said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, as he and Senators Roger Marshall (R-KS), Ted Budd (R-NC) and John Hoeven (R-ND) toured the U.S.-Mexico Border in Brownsville, Texas as Title 42 ended. They toured Camp Monument, where they met with members of both the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, and Texas National Guard.
The left's censorship efforts continue. Last week, Townhall published a column warning about the dangers of President Biden's open border policies and their implications on national security. It was written by retired Navy Captain Hung Cao, who came to America as a child and refugee from Vietnam. Remarkably, when Mr. Cao's op-ed was posted on Facebook, it was flagged as "hate speech" and eliminated from circulation.
It’s past time to stand up for America. The alarms are going off, Mr. Biden's asleep, and 5+ million Southern Border illegal crossings are devastating local communities and state resources. House Republicans passed legislation to fix Biden’s broken border policies, restart construction of the border wall, increase hiring of Border Patrol Agents, and end "Catch & Release." America and Texans are tired of shouldering the burden.
This latest version does little to provide meaningful school choice, and legislators deserve to know that it would be vetoed if it reached my desk. Instead, the original House version of the Senate bill provides a more meaningful starting point to begin House-Senate negotiations.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas): Israel has taken necessary action against terrorist leaders in the Gaza Strip to protect its citizens and maintain national security. Such Iran-controlled terrorists pose a direct threat not only to Israel but also to the safety and security of the American people.
"Representing more than 40% of our nation's Southern Border, I know firsthand the struggles that Border Communities, Border Patrol Agents & Law Enforcement Officers face each and every day. The "Secure the Border Act" is a step in the right direction and cracks down on false asylum claims while preserving people's rights who're legitimately fleeing persecution to have their day in court.," said Texas border-area Cong. Gonzales following H.R. 2's passage.
At a time when "connectivity" of all kinds is necessary & critical for day-to-day life, two leading corporations with strong Texas ties announced this week they will be making major investments to create the country's largest commercial wholesale fiber network and help bring high-speed connectivity to more Americans. For large, medium or smaller-sized metro areas, Texans need powerful infrastructure systems.
The State of Texas is ready to provide all available resources and support for Texans in Hidalgo County as they rebuild and recover from severe storm damage last month,” said Governor Abbott. “This disaster declaration will help those impacted to move forward, recover from property damage, and continue to rebuild from severe storm damage.
Lax – or no border enforcement – means an uptick in drug trafficking & smuggling, and the entry of dangerous individuals with criminal backgrounds. The tragedy in Cleveland, Texas, where a Mexican national with a criminal record and multiple illegal re-entries shot five neighbors "execution style," underscores both the risks of Joe Biden's lack of leadership – and the need to stand for the interests of Texas and its people.
In a free and affluent country, there will always be clustering, as people choose to live in neighborhoods with congenial churches and stores, near neighbors with similar tastes or values, connected to schools and venues where their children make friends and find mates. And often some segregation is unproblematic, while other segregation, namely, separating people of one race from another, is legally suspect and loathsome.
"I want our processing facilities to be run like Chick-fil-A," said Joe Biden’s U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz Wednesday, as illegal immigrants flooded across the Texas-Mexico Border just days prior to Title 42 being lifted on Thursday, May 11th. "I do not want another Del Rio Haitian crisis on my watch," Ortiz said, noting that future illegal immigrant intake processing should be run as smoothly as the service provided by the famous fast-food restaurant.
As with many things in politics these days, the courts and Attorney Generals are often asked to step in and determine the effects of various constitutional provisions. And, while the 2023 Texas Legislature is thought to be poised to reinstitute the same State Legislative Maps used in 2022, some in Austin are worried an unintended consequence of 2021's delayed redistricting process may require all 31 State Senators to run again in 2024.
The month of May has the most days of any month in the year that are set aside for celebrating & commemorating our nation's military achievements. As such, May is known as "National Military Appreciation Month." This gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation for past and present military personnel, their families, and for their service and sacrifices. Here are some of the national observances to participate in during the month.
