The debate tone was set with the first question. Debate co-moderator David Muir, ABC's news managing editor, asked Vice President Kamala Harris: "I want to begin tonight with the issue voters repeatedly say is their No. 1 issue ... When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?" It is not just a simple question. It is THE central question of the race – given that most voters cite the economy as their #1 issue. Harris whiffed, badly – and failed to answer directly.

But ISIS and others are coming here – hell, they are already here and are greeted with open arms by the Democratic administration. You need to understand that. And it’s not only the Muslim terrorists. We now have the Tren de Aragua gang as well to add to other gangs, like MS 13, that the Democrats have imported as part of their program of cultural enrichment. This particular criminal gang has taken over parts of Aurora, Colorado, where it has occupied a bunch of apartment buildings.

I couldn’t help but notice recently that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris went and spoke to members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). While not unusual – Democrats have always pandered to unions and are in bed with union bosses, getting almost all of the campaign cash unions spend – something occurred to me while watching: How many non-union, non-Democrat Party crowds has Kamala Harris addressed in the last month? Can you blame Democrats for wanting to hide her?

The public is exhausted after a decade of chronic untruth from the left-wing and its media.​ The 2016 presidential campaign will be long remembered for the false allegation that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to warp the election. Citing the bogus "Steele dossier," loser Hillary Clinton and other Democrat grandees claimed that the victorious Trump was an "illegitimate" president.

Kamala Harris claims she's campaigning for "freedom" and "joy," but her track record shows she's the enemy of the most important joyful freedom of all – Free Speech. She and Democrats all across their leadership ranks have used government power to muzzle those who disagree with them for at least the past 8 years – and counting. So, voters here in the Good Ol' USA had better decide if we want a government that limits what we can hear and read, and the political views we're exposed to, or not. Kamala Harris's definition of "freedom" is anything but free.

She did a 41-minute interview with CNN's Dana Bash that could not have been more softball if CNN had put a Nerf Ball on a tee in front of her – and let her swing away until she hit it. They only released about 18 minutes of her supposedly hour-long "Big Interview" of questioning and babbling. So, where is the rest? We can safely assume that she looked like even more of an idiot than the limited CNN director’s cut that was provided. She’s always incoherent – you have to translate her English, into English.

How do accomplished radicals like today's Democrats elect a mediocre, far-left candidate like Kamala Harris to be president? The task might seem impossible at first – but she is currently a radical incumbent Vice President. For years she's been 2nd in Command to an unprecedentedly unliked Democrat president, and she's compiled an unprecedented hard-left record – while loudly boasting everywhere that she's proudly "woke" and "radical." But for her to be elected, the following "15 Radical Rules" will be required and must be followed – to the letter.

He’s a normal human being, as one would expect from an Ohioan. He doesn't have that weird vibe you get from a lot of politicians, that if they take off their business suit they'll disappear. The Democrats may think he's weird, or at least claim he is, but that's only because they are a bunch of weirdos. JD doesn't think that women can become men, nor does he think that socialism is the answer. Nor does he create elaborate reasons for dodging his duty – when duty called, JD Vance, unlike Tim Walz, didn't let it go to voicemail. He’s normal. Like us.

Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, or New York Cong. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – but now, that and more are the party’s "mainstream" position. Here's why.

President John F. Kennedy was a staunch anti-communist who fought against Union & Government Corruption. He was a pro-life Catholic, was laser-focused on faster growth ("we can do bettah,") and saw sweeping tax rate reductions as a step toward achieving 4% to 5% growth. Today, just the opposite: Democrats are now for higher taxes, they ignore and excuse union & government corruption, and they don't even talk about growth. It's all income redistribution. RFK Jr. was right when he said the other day– he hasn't left the Democrat Party, the party's left him.

It’s scary as hell. The United States is not ready for the kind of war we are seeing played out in Ukraine, a peer-to-peer conventional fight that is rewriting the rules of what we thought war was supposed to be. And, with leadership in the White House sitting in a rocker staring slack-jawed at Matlock reruns, we are not in a position to fix what will mean defeat in our next real war.

A near decade ago, we witnessed the 2015-2016 Hillary Clinton/Democratic National Committee/FBI-assisted effort to plant the false accusation of Trump-Russian collusion to warp the 2016 election. That gambit centered around the fraudulent Steele dossier and nearly fatally crippled the Trump 2016 campaign. That hoax would later sidetrack 22 months of his presidency before being proven a fantasy. On the eve of the 2020 election, the left next birthed the Russian laptop disinformation campaign.

It was a rank pander to the economically illiterate, and I wish we had a word to describe the type of thinking that's this divorced from reality. Kamala Harris’s proposal "to lower grocery prices and everyday costs” is invaluable insofar as it, in effect, attacks high prices for being high – as though they increased in a vacuum. The real problem is, she's failing to address the source of three-plus years of inflation and escalating prices – the policies of Kamala Harris & Joe Biden 

The convention in Chicago, hometown of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. They spoke at the DNC about "hope" and about the importance of everyone living up to his or her potential. For many Chicagoans, that's a tall order. In 2022, according to the Illinois State Board of Education, there were 53 Illinois public K-12 schools, mostly in Chicago, where 0% of the students could do math at grade level and 30 public schools,0% of the students could read at grade level.

Antisemitism on college campuses is intense. Incidents shot up 700% after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Last year, Jewish students were blocked from classes, told to "go back to Europe," and even forced to navigate a Jewish "exclusion zone" at one university. Don't expect much improvement this fall. Aside from the resignations of three Ivy League presidents, colleges have done little to deter more incidents.

According to RealClear Politics, 65% of Americans say "our country is on the wrong track." Only 25% say we are "moving in the right direction." So this week's Democrat Convention will be worth watching – if for no other reason, simply as an exercise in detecting American hypocrisy. You will learn how much more radical they are than anyone else you know. You'll see just how much they're willing to lie to get your vote. But why should we believe them?

If you listen to the Doomers, we’re doomed, We’re dying, we’re done, it’s over – Kamala is coming in, and Kamala absolutely could win. But the correlation of fundamentals is in favor of Trump. The economy is a disaster. Biden-Harris foreign policy is putting us all at risk. Our borders are wide open. Criminals are running the streets. This is all Democrat policy – and it's all poison to normal people. ​​​​​​​America needs an insurgency campaign; which is what Trump’s doing.

You can tell when someone really nails a politician by the way no one tries to defend them. When someone really rhetorically punches a candidate in the nose, the guilty slink away and hope the issue fades. If that candidate is attacked unfairly, the airwaves are flooded with friends and colleagues, provided by the campaign, to defend them. That no such defense of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been forthcoming on his stolen valor allegations.
