The tunnel exited into the U.S. in a non-descript San Diego Warehouse District called “Amistad Park” – on a street busy with large semi-trailers by day, but quiet by night. After staking out a home used as a stash house, officials began making traffic stops and capturing boxes full of cocaine. The sophisticated tunnel featured rail & ventilation systems, as well as electricity & reinforced walls.
